12 weeks pregnant diarrhea

by Krissy1428, Aug 03, 2009 09:39PM
Hey there. I guess I'm almost through my first trimester as I am now 12 weeks along. I had an ultrasound last week that showed our little baby growing and kicking with a healthy heartbeat. I experienced a miscarriage(blighted ovum) last year and find myself anxious over most things with this pregnancy. My question is about an episode of diarrhea I had about a half an hour ago. With my miscarriage I had diarrhea sometimes twice a day before I found out there was anything wrong with the pregnancy. Can diarrhea be okay in pregnancy? Has anyone experienced it with a successful term? Thank you in advance.

Diarrhea can be a common complaint during pregnancy and is not indicative of anything going wrong.

I had diarrhea on and off throughout my last pregnancy, it stopped the day after I had my son. He was a healthy 9 1/2 pounds!!

I am 6wks6days and have been experiencing the same issue. It kinda has me worried as well. Has anyone had it so early in pregnancy?

I had it from the day I found out at 8DPO almost daily until I was 16 weeks.  I couldn't even eat out because I couldn't make it through meals.  It was terrible.  I went to a gastroenterologist and was diagnosed with pregnancy induced IBS.  He said that though constipation is the more common complaint, hormones and our changing digestive systems can absolutely have the opposite effect as well.  I will be 25 weeks tomorrow, and everything is looking great.  It finally stopped about the same time my morning sickness did.
