2 consecutive missed miscarriages

Hi,

For the second time we went for our routine dating scan, only to be told that we've had yet another missed miscarriage, I've had another D&C we thought the chances of having 2 consecutive missed miscarriages was pretty slim, both of them have been detected at the 12 week scan.

Our first one was in November 07 and the second one was this week. Does anyone know if the chances of us having more of these type of miscarriages is? I'm just about ready to give up.
I'm 30 years old and don't know if this is a factor at all?
Any help would be appreciated, as we are at the end of our tethers!

Sorry to hear about this, I just got back from the obgyn hoping that I was prego after a miscarriage in December but I got a bfn =(  Anyways, we were talking about miscarriages and she said that the second miscarriage carries the same chances as the first BUT after two the chance for a third is higher and if you have been trying for a year and have had the two within the year, you should see a fertility specialist to see why you are having miscarriages...although I have heard of some dr.s who wait until you've actually had the third and then look into options etc.  Hope this helped...I know its probably not what you wanted to hear.  Sorry.

i am so sorry about this.... its horrible and worst way of knowing a woman has lost her baby... I had a missed miscarriage in aug 06 and now I am almost 11 weeks pregnant, have a scan in 2 weeks time and i am constantly worried, they told me with my missed miscarriage that the baby has died at 8 1/2 weeks! at which weeks did your baby/babies passed away?  I had a scan at almost 10 weeks and was told all was fine and heard the heartbeat so i really hope all continues well....
