Welcome Darkestlight!
I guess you and are are due the same day?> Hows your pregnancy going? Any weird symptoms going on?
I have few BH everyday that make me nervous, do you experience those?

by eternidad200, Mar 25, 2009 10:20AM
Hi there Anya, I am 24 weeks and 3 days, feeling greta, belly still growing at an amazing rate. There are good days and there are days I can't even find myself comfortable anymore in bed, but overall good.

Maria- hope your pelvic and belly button pain is getting better, mine is definitly better. Guess is part of pregnancy.

Darkeslight- glad you can join us, hope you find our group helpful and supportive.

by Maria2707, Mar 25, 2009 10:23AM
25 weeks today!

Anya and Eterninad, You are right. We are worrying so much about our babies and hence we end up seeing bad dreams.

Eternidad- I was thinking I was the only one going through the pelvic pain. Its gets very bad in the night, cant turn from side to side. My OB said to use heating pad(but how can you put it there) and also could take Tylenol. Did your doctor say anything?

Dreamgirl- Dont worry your mother will get her visa soon. But you should apply soon, cant wait for the last moment.

Darkestlight-Welcome!

by GRose, Mar 25, 2009 11:09AM
I wanna join too!! I am 24 weeks and 2 days.

I'm 24 weeks and 3 days! :]

by Maria2707, Mar 25, 2009 12:36PM
Welcome GRose and Kimberlee_20! Do share your experiences and symptoms.

by Anya1984, Mar 25, 2009 12:46PM
Woho, welcome everybody!!

Maria - so you have pelvic pain, is that a pressure pain or what kind? Cuz I get pressure down there when I need to pee or sometimes when I just get up from a chair or a bed...not sure what that is... I still think its good that you haven't experienced any BH -they worry me but I guess I am fine..

Oh, and I decided to switch my doc to a midwife....what do you all think?! I heard that midwifes are more personal to you and overall better and won't try to cut you just because.. I believe they don't cut, and if emergency happens and I need to have a c-section or to be cut down there, the doc will be on call and will come right a way...
Plus , with midwife, I will get an u/s at 34 weeks or so!! I am a little hesitant...but I have a first appt with a midwife next Friday, we will see how it goes! Its just that my doc is going to be on maternity at that time PLUS I want more personal attitude towards me I guess...
I want to hear your opinions!

by eternidad200, Mar 25, 2009 02:04PM
Anya- I love midwifes, is not they are diffenet medically from docs, is just they are a little bit more holistic and look at you not only as a pt but as an indivuaal. I have worked with some midwifes and if they need to do an episiotomy (cutting) they will do it, but you better discuss this with them.
Overall I think is a great idea.

by Maria2707, Mar 25, 2009 02:22PM
Anya- The pain is very bad... its on the pelvic bone and for me its on the right side. Also sometimes the pain travels to my right buttocks and thighs. OB said it must be the Sciatic nerve. It might get better over time or might get worse too. Yes I haven't experienced BH till now, or may be I did and didn't know about about it. What exactly is the feeling?

I do not have any experience with midwife. My grand mom used to be a midwife in her days. I heard that its a routing to do a ultrasound in 34th week. I will ask my doctor when I go for the appointment on 8th.  If you feel you are comfortable with the mid wife then you can go along. But I dont know what extra would they do other than doctors.

by Anya1984, Mar 25, 2009 04:11PM
Eternidad- I believe the midwife doesn't do the cutting, the doc does. So he will be there in case the cutting should occur but they try not to cut you..Also, I read this article that said that tearing is actually better then cutting. If you are interested, I can send the link!
Are you seeing a doc or a midwife? Everyone I spoke with, love midwifes, so I think I will go with them! Its still the same hospital and all...

Maria- I am so sorry that you have those pains...I hope it iwll go away, can you walk?
The BH is distinct- its a very uncomfortable feeling where your stomach pops out and it is hard as a rock for only few seconds...sometimes you can really feel it and sometimes not. I bet you have those BH, u just can't feel it which is good :) Less pain for you!

I just found out that docs or midwifes won't really give you another u/s unless necessary...because u/s is not so good for the baby especially after 30 weeks ( I don't know why but that's what they said), and so no u/s will be provided for me :( bummer! Oh well, if it is not so good, then I guess I will have to deal with that!
I guess I wont see my little one until she is born :) But some docs probly do that, not mine..

by GRose, Mar 25, 2009 04:37PM
Well, thanks for welcoming me to the group lol.
So far my pregnancy has been pretty smooth sailing, I had pretty awful migraines that have pretty much subsided. I also had pretty bad nausea that lasted until about 18 weeks or so. Lately I have been dealing with some tummy issues and we are waiting for my symptoms to surface again so we can get to the bottom of it. Every couple weeks I go through 4 or 5 days of not being able to keep anything in or down and horrible stomach cramping. I have been very sleepy but cant seem to fall asleep at night or stay sleeping so that doesn't help.
I have been getting BH pretty regularly, at least that's what I think they are. It also feels like the baby is pushing down really hard, like I have to lay down cause he needs more room to stretch. It's a weird feeling.
I saw that you ladies were talking about ultrasounds, I have gotten so many with this pregnancy, so far 5. I will get one more for sure but closer to my due date since my baby was still in breach position and my OB wants to make sure that he turns.

by ZUZ, Mar 25, 2009 08:41PM
Hi Ladies!  I hope you are all doing well!  I just wanted to say hi since I've obviously missed a lot!  Florida was absolutely beautiful!  I did not want to come home.  I just wanted to lay on Siesta Key and stay there!  haha!

Maria!  Happy 25th week! Can you believe we're here???  :)  Im sorry to hear you've been having some pain. I hope it subsides soon!  Just try not to worry or stress.  You'll be fine!

Eternidad, I'm with you on the growing!  Only I can't stop eating so that is not helping the situation!  :)

Anya, That's awesome that your test came back negative.  I'm going in for it on Mon.  The doctor said he rarely sees it come back positive so I've been trying to be positive.

Dreamgirl, I hope things go well with your moms visa.  Please keep us posted!  How is your nursery coming along???

A big hello to all the new people!!!!

by Maria2707, Mar 26, 2009 07:56AM
Zuz- Welcome back! I know you had lots of fun in Florida. Yeah! Welcome to 25th week. Just completed first milestone. How do you feel? Do you feel the baby lot? I am hoping that the pelvic pain subsides.

Anya- I think I have BH too. I did experience the symptoms. It does 't pain right? About my pain, sometimes I cannot walk, can't put all the weight on right leg.

by Anya1984, Mar 26, 2009 10:35AM
Hi Zuz!! Hows  Florida? How s the water, were you able to swim? I am planning the trip to Florida in 2 weeks or so so I wanted to know if I can swim? Is the water not too cold?
Good luck with the test, it will be negative , don't worry!!! WE are still too early to deliver!

Maria - Yeah, BH don't hurt, they just uncomfy and your stomach gets hard as a rock :(
Last two nights it was weird, first, my left leg got a muscle pulled and it hurt SO BADLY for like a minute before the pain subsided...still, it hurts to walk becuase the muscle is sore....last night, samething happened to my right leg!! Now my both legs are hard to walk on..does anyone know what's going on?
Also, my belly has been very itchy lately, so I am going to buy the streaching loation in CVS for pregnant women..Does anyone else using anything for that matter?

GRose- you are lucky getting another u/s...I guess I will try not to think about anything bad and hopefully everything will be fine without having an u/s...

by Maria2707, Mar 26, 2009 11:03AM
Anya- Where was the muscle pull. It's not cramp right?  Was it your calf muscle? If it's yes, it's common at this time of pregnancy. I get cramps in my calves and that is painful. My tummy has started itching too,but not much. I should buy the cream and keep. When do you go for appointment with your doc again? Have you decided not to see your doc after switching to midwife?

Zuz-Yes don't worry, your tests will be fine.

by Kimberlee_20, Mar 26, 2009 11:20AM
I've been having this weeeird feeling, it feels like he's kicking my cervix, and it only happens when I feel him moving down lower, and it's a quick, sharp feeling, more like a tingle I have no idea what it is, but it happened about 6 times yesterday!

by eternidad200, Mar 26, 2009 11:41AM
HI girls, it seems we are all kind of experiencing some aches and pain, and I think is pretty normal with pregnancy.

ZUZ- OMG happy you are back and also you got a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather in Florida we sure miss you around here. Ho is the baby and and the belly, growing well I bet.

Anya and Maria- leg cramps at night are the worse, I had them also the othe rday while I was doing my aqua aerobic classes, they were so painful, ouch.

Kimberlee- at time I do feel something like that in my lower abdomen, usually after my long 12 hour shift, or maybe the tingling is the baby moving, how far along are you?

GRose- so you are having stomach problems, and only happens every 4-5 weeks, I wonder whta that might be? have the docs say anything? Are your sleeping troubles onmly when you experience these symptoms or almost anytime.? Hope they can find the source of everything.

by Kimberlee_20, Mar 26, 2009 11:47AM
I'm 24W4D today, and I usually feel it when I'm at work or when I'm standing too!

by jessbbg, Mar 26, 2009 03:16PM
Hey girls!  I'm joining the fray from sunny florida at 24w2d!  woohoo!

To: Jessbbg
Lucky you being in sunny Florida, it is so cold down here..
So I was wondering, is it still too early to swim in the water?

by Anya1984, Mar 26, 2009 03:34PM
Maria and Eternidad, -wow, thank you, I wasn't sure why I have these weird cramping pains in my legs...
Here is what I read that could help..
Some women will experience a condition called sciatica during pregnancy. This often happens when the baby's head presses against the pelvic bones causing the nerves in your lower back and legs to be compressed. Severe pain often results and can occur in the lower back, leg or legs and even buttocks. Some women will also experience numbness or tingling in the legs. For some women the pain is so severe they aren't able to lift their leg or walk without excruciating pain. So what is a woman to do? Typically most women will realize a complete relief of symptoms once the baby is born. Until then there are many things you can do to help alleviate the pain:

Apply a hot or ice pack for 10 minutes to the area that is most painful.
Sleep on a firm mattress.
Avoid sitting for long periods of time.
Avoid frequent bending at the waist.
Don't engage in movements that make the pain worse.
Consider physical therapy if your physician recommends it.
Try to stand up straight.
Use support cushions and a full body pillow in bed.
Don't lift anything heavy and when you do lift be sure to bend from the knees.
Consider chiropractic care or physical therapy.

HI!

Anya, yes the water was COLD!  My in-laws have a pool and it was about 74 degrees but it still too cold!  Siesta Key was amazing but my toes froze from just a little dip!  It was so pretty there though....  Your results really made me feel better about the whole thing.  You're right! It IS too early to deliver!  Are we 38 wks yet?  When is the point where everything is perfect and baby is full grown!?!

Maria, thanks for the nice words. :)   How has your tummy been feeling?  I've been feeling baby a lot.  Its so nice.  I started drinking coffee in the morning again and boy does it get baby going!  I love it! Yes we had a great time!  I got to meet my hubby's Nana for the first time and got to hang out with my parents a lot and show them around.  Only downside was/is that my father in law is undergoing treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and it makes him exhausted.  It was very sad because he really stayed home most of the time.  :(  Please keep him in your prayers!

Eternidad, hi!  Stop working 12 hours shifts omg!  I get tired just hearing you say that!  Sleeping has been getting harder and harder due to growing belly and after midnight stops to the bathroom at least twice a night! And yes, we had a great time!  It was nice to have my parents with us too. We tried to show them around and take them everywhere so it was actually kind of exhausting, but in a good way becasue we were in 80 degree weather!

Kimberlee, I get kicked so low sometimes, I feel like baby's foot will fly out!

by GRose, Mar 26, 2009 11:35PM
Eternidad- The tummy problems are like every other week and last 4 or 5 days, my OB doesn't really know what to think. The sleeping problems are every night, I just cant get comfy and I cant stop my mind from going, it is really frustrating.

Kim- I get that same feeling, I had it with my first pregnancy as well, it literally feels like the baby is kicking my cervix and he probably is.

I want to join. Im 29weeks and 1 day.

by eternidad200, Mar 27, 2009 08:24AM
well welcome veryone to our thread, is os nice to hear there are few of us here now.

Zuz- I wish I could stop working, but need the money. I work in an Oncology floor 12 hours a shift and 36 hours weekly, rather being there for 3 days at 12 hours then 8 hours making me 4 days in a row. Is hard on my feet but overall I love what I do. Sorry about your grandfather, know lotos of pt dealing with Non Hodking lymphoma and is hard for them and for their ffamilies too.
Are you drinking coffee? wow that is one of the things I miss the must in this pregnancy, a nice hot steamy cup of black coffee. I stopped that once I started 3 years ago my fertility treatments.

Anya- thanks for the advise about the leg cramps, will see what we can do about them.

Grose- I hear you about not being able to get comfortably at night, I think is bc belly is geting bigger and is hard to find the right position, I tried pillows and everything else but does not help. Hope your doc can find out about your stomach problems.

by Anya1984, Mar 27, 2009 09:20AM
Kattie 87 - Welcome, wow, you are already 29 weeks, I wish I can be there already! :( How are you feeling? I get some symptoms like leg cramps, BHs that are not very happy things ..

ZUZ- So you are saying that the water was freezing cold, huh? Well, I am planning on going in another 2 weeks to Miami and Key WEst, I hope that the water will be 78 so that I can at least swim a little....Plus I really need a vacation to get away!
Yes, don't you even worry about that test on Monday, let me tell you, if you don't have any symptoms, nothing is going to happen! Plus, at 25 weeks, the baby rate of survival is 50%!! So that's not bad! (just for your knowledge, you won't deliver before term, don't worry!)

Eternidad- are you planning on working till the end? I am debating cuz we also need money, so I decided to see how I will feel :)

by skipili, Mar 27, 2009 01:32PM
Hello everyone!!!

I'm 26 weeks and 6 days. I've been sick since the beginning of the week. My sinuses are aweful. I finally broke down today and got some Sudifed and it doesn't even seem to be helping. Tuesday I had my u/s and the Dr said my placenta has moved up enough so that's good news. He also said my little one weighs 2lb and 7oz. Now I don't have to go this Dr anymore. Just need to go to my OB. Yeah!!!!

ZUZ - Glad to hear you had fun. Siesta Key is really nice. I stayed there one weekend and had a great time.

Anya - I like the idea of a midwife but I didn't go with one because I'm a little older and figured I'd be better off with my OB. I heard midwive's don't rush you though which is good. Also, have you heard of doing smiley faces shortly before you're due to help you stretch? I guess it can help so that you don't rip or need cut down there.  I don't know if that really works though.

by dream_girl377, Mar 27, 2009 02:26PM
Hi girls,
Another week is almost over, I am 25 weeks1 day, spring is here, I love warm weather. Welcome to new members. I read the pains you girls are going through. My problem is the lower back pain and it extened to my tail bones. Sometimes I walk like a duck because of the pain. By the way, what is BH you girls talked about?

Anya, I also have sleeping problem. Most of the time I woke up and realize I was sleeping on my back. I guess we do feel relax when the uterus is lying at the back, plus all the back pain we had at day time, it seems our body naturally  put us that position to relax our back. I am trying hard to sleep on the left side, but I just can't do for very long.
Please don't stress too much of it, the most important thing is to get good sleep.

ZUZ, glad you had a good time at F.L. So you start to drink coffee, is it ok to have coffee now? I am still trying to avoid even I miss it so badly.

Maria, we are doing the paper work for my mom's visa now. Hope we can get things moving fast.

Eternidad, Glad you feel great. I do have some good days too, specially when I am home not working. My dr. said I should stop working by the end of April or early May. But I will see how I feel, as we need money too. How about you? 12 hours shift will be hard for you when you are in the third trimester.

Take a good care of yourself everyone and have great weekend.

by Maria2707, Mar 27, 2009 04:19PM
Anya- thanks for the information on sciatic nerve. During my last u/s my baby's head was near the right side of my lower abdomen and that explains the pressure on my pelvic area. Pain is too much. I will be quitting my job and relax at home. It's too much of stress with all the pain I am going through. By the pain I too am getting BH's, as you said my tummy tightens for few seconds an there is no pain. For your leg cramps, don't move your leg too quickly in bed also when you streth your leg try to flex your feet . That way you can avoid the cramps.

Zuz- don't worry about Monday's test, it will me negative. Pain around my belly buttonn has reduced, but the pelvic bone pain is too much. I am praying that the pain goes away soon. I need painless legs to walk around and do shopping for the little one.

Eternidad-are you doing anything for the pain? I sometimes get into shower and used the hand held shower and spray hot water around the pain area. It does give me temporary relief.

Dreamgirl- good you are getting your Mom's visa. My parents are coming next month. My mother cannot wait to see me. it's nothing like having your mom during delivery.

Skipili-glad to hear that your placenta has moved up.

Welcome to all newcomers!

by ZUZ, Mar 27, 2009 07:42PM
Anya, go enjoy yourself!  I hope the sun has some time to heat the water up for you!  I'm sure you'll have a great time.  It's a great time to go.  I mean think about it, you wait any longer to go, you'll be packing a baby up too!  I think the test will be ok. I'm really trying not to think about it.  It stresses me out!  I wish we could all have uneventful pregnancies!

Maria, I'm glad the belly button pain has subsided.  What is the pelvic pain from?  Is it the baby?  I feel so bad for you.  :(  I'll say lots of prayers for you that you have no more pain!  If you could stay home and rest, that would be great.  Focus on the happy side: little baby clothes, furniture, toys...awww!!!!!!  Just think, in three months time none us will be resting anymore!  :)

Eternidad, I'm only working because we need the money too! Especially with baby coming!  God Bless you. I bet that is a tough floor to work on.  We dealt with that a couple of years ago when my dad was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, fortunately for him...and us they caught it early enough to treat it with radiation and Rituxin.  So he's ok now.  Just goes to his oncologist for check ups every few months.  But my father in law was diagnosed with it at stage 4.  Its in his bone marrow. It was so hard to see him in FL.  They've started him on Treanda (have you heard of it?) as a last resort since he's allergic to Rituxin. He looks ok but he is not himself at all.  I feel so horrible for my husband.  They're so close.  He really wanted my in laws to come up here when baby is born.  My father in law is so excited about the baby.  He told me that the reason he's taking all these meds and starting new treatment was so he could see his grandbaby.  It makes me cry just thinking about it.  So please keep him in your prayers!  I know they work!!
My husband just asked me to ask you what hospital you work for?  He is in the medical staffing industry and MI is one of his states so he'll probably be there sometime!

Dreamgirl, I just have some in the morning and have lots of water all day long.  My doctor said it was ok as long as I don't over do it on the caffiene.  I don't ever drink pop so my cup of coffee is as bed as it gets. :)

Skipili, I'm sorry about your sinuses...owww!  I hope you feel better soon!  Yeah, Siesta Key was awesome.  We actually stayed in Sarasota with my in laws and visited the beach for a day.  I loved it.

I hope all of you are well and feeling great.  May God continue to bless you and your beautiful babies!

by eternidad200, Mar 29, 2009 09:54AM
Hi girls and Happy Sunday to everyone.

Anya- I am definitly planning to work until I can, you know how that goes, if baby is o.k and I feel fine, probably I will do it so my maternity leave can start kicking in after baby is born and I get to spend more time with baby.

Dreamgirl- glad to hear you gus are feeling great, probably the tailbone pain is r/t to belly's weight. BH are Braxton Hick early contractions during pregnancy.

Zuz- The unit where I work can be tought sometimes r/t pt's circumstances, but overall  I would not be somewhere else, I love it there. I have not heard of Treanda but there are so many chemotherapeutic agents and so many treatments as there  are medications aroound the world. Glad to hear your dad is better, what a God's blessing, pretty sure your father in law will do well too, lots of prayers and sipiritual support are much in need in times like these for him. It will be nice if he can come and visit you guys when baby is born.

Maria- My pain is gone, talked to the doc and she says is probably related to my belly growing, so I expect next month to happen again. All what helps is laying in bed fo a while and not moving much.

Skipili- your baby is 2 lb, wohooo, how much fun, sorry to hear about your sinuses, one of the things that happens with pregnancy bc our hormones are kind of of high. Hope the sudafed heps, also try to go to the bathroom and run hot water and stay there under the steamy room to help aleviate your symptoms.

by jessbbg, Mar 29, 2009 05:01PM
Anya -

It depends on which water, I guess.  And the day!  I used to go wakeboarding in January, but I'd wear a wetsuit top with my boardshorts... For pools, we swim year round as long as it's heated!  Ocean... well, i'm a cold-wuss, so that's pretty much too cold for me all the time, lol.

by Maria2707, Mar 29, 2009 08:25PM
Hello Everyone!!
Hope you all had a nice weekend. After a long time today's weather was very good. Though it rained with hail stones.. felt nice to go out and shop some clothes for myself.

Eternidad- Good that your pains are gone. My tummy has started itching... I scratch it very carefully so that it  doesn't start burning later on.

Zuz- The pain in the pelvic area I think  is due to the baby's head being close to pelvic area. My OB said it is something to do with sciatic nerve. Three more days to end 25th week. I will be quitting my job soon and will stay at home full time.. :)

Anya- Welcome to 26th week.. :) You must be all excited for your coming trip...Good for you, you should go have fun.

by eternidad200, Mar 30, 2009 09:23AM
Maria- nice, you are quiting your job. WHat a great news is to be able to stay at home full time. Wish we could do it but the way the economy is heading not seeing it happening for a while. Hope your pain is getting better, belly itching is crazy, I have started to apply baby oil to my belly to help with that and with future stretch marks.

WOw, you are already 26w2d!! How are you feeling?! Im glad that your placenta moved up, that's great news! Lucky you having an u/s, I won't have mine until the delivery :( So I can only assume that my baby is approximately the same weight is yours, Im 26w1d..I can't wait to get to a third trimester!

What do you mean smiley faces? Can you elaborate? Anything I can do so that I wont have to be cut - Im up for it!
Thanks!

by Anya1984, Mar 30, 2009 09:47AM
Eternidad - Yeah, I feel you, my belly started to itch so badly so I am using extra cocoa butter lotion and it helps :) Also I don't see it growing but folks says it does which makes me happy :) Barely feel those BH nowdays..although in the book it says that they suppose to get stronger...hm...maybe I just don't feel them much?

Maria - you are quitting your job? You should if you get so much pain and rest at home, with lots of joy :) But if baby moves away from that area, you shouldn't have the pain, right? so does the pain come and go? When are you planning on quitting?
You know, before I got pregnant, I was so sure that when I turn 7-8 months, I will definately quit and stay with the baby for a year and then find a job...but as the time approaching, we realize that 1. the economy is so bad that I might not be able to find a job for a LONG time 2. we don't have all that money to support me and the baby 3. my work is a little bit paying for my school , so once I quit, I will have to pay back about $10 K !! So yeah....cannot quit just yet :( Although the worst is to come back to work after the baby is born :(

Zuz and everybody else - I am NOT goin on vacation :( When my in laws found out, they got so furious...grrrrr....they said, are you nuts traveling such long distance when 7 months pregnant? If anything happens, you will never be able to forgive yourself...
After I heard that I couldn't...just couldn't even think of going.,..I don't like my in laws cuz they all in my business but she is right, I will not forgive myself...it is a little dangerous traveling at 28 weeks..so yeah...SUX! Now I am stuck here working :(

by Maria2707, Mar 30, 2009 12:45PM
Anya-I know its disappointing that your trip is canceled. But as your mother said the word of regretting gets very scary. But what you can do is , since you had planned to take some days off, may be you should just take couple of days off from work and go for a short getaway close by..:) I am tired of my work, I literally drag myself to work. I discussed with my DH and he said its fine if I wanted to stay at home and rest. My pelvic pain is also constant and looks like its getting bad instead of better. My parents are coming end of April and I will be at home by then full time. I also thought like you, that I would stay at home until baby is a year old.  Since your company is paying for your education, its better you make use of it.  By the way I still feel the baby low below my belly button. Is that normal?

Eternidad- Yes, its a relief to stay at home. It does scare me sometimes thinking about the single earning and and the economy.Right now I am stressed already and work is stressful too. I will be at home from mid april.

by eternidad200, Mar 30, 2009 01:23PM
Maria- I am definilty very happy you can take the time off, is great for you and the baby and if you are feeling that is too much is good you guys can work thing out. In the mean time try to keep your feet up and rest as much as you can.

Anya- maybe your in laws thinking might be right. If you feel that is a good explanation go for it and stay at home, maybe you can go on vacation after the baby is born.

by Anya1984, Mar 30, 2009 02:33PM
Eternidad and Maria - yeah, I decided to stay but I only have one week vacation so I will use it on week 39 before I go into labor...of course, unless it will be impssible to work before..but so far, I am feeling alright and able to work, even though I am dragging myself to work like Maria..
Maria, if you have such horrible pelvic pain, than you definately should stay home..I think its becaouse your baby lying low? For me, it is so much better than high because I have galbladder stones, and I m glad that she is not kicking the galbladder...but for you, it gives you lots of pain, SORRY!
I will go see midwife this Friday, and will ask her is that normal that the baby is kicking low..

Hi Girls,
I have a very bad news. My father has diagnosed esophagus cancer. My family was trying to hide the truth from me as they don't want to upset me . However, I can sense there were something wrong, my mom and my brother were both talk funny on the phone. When I found out the truth, my dad has already had his operation. The operation went well, but he is very very weak since he cannot take any food. I am totally stressed out, and lost sleep for two nights. I am scared to lose my father and also I am worry about my stress will effect on my babies. I am trying stay possitive, but I cannot stop thinking about my father. My mom is not coming and I will need to looking for a living-in nanny to help me.
Anyone has any information on esophagus cancer, please help.
Please keep my father in your prayer.

by Anya1984, Mar 30, 2009 03:34PM
dream_girl - wow, I am so sorry....I know it is painful but for your own sake and for the sake of your children, you have to stay positive...think about it, your dad had his operation and it went well, so he is ok now and will take food after a little while...so he should be alright! Please try to think positive and have good thoughts about your babies, it is very very important! Stress can do horrible things to you, so you need to relax and think that everything will be fine because your dad is in good care!
You can find a living in nanny, that shouldn't be a problem, or maybe you should stay home with babies? Either way, I am sorry agian that your mom isn't comming but maybe a little later?

by eternidad200, Mar 30, 2009 04:00PM
dreamgirl- I work in an oncology floor and lots of my pt are diagnosed with esophageal CA, also the turn around rate after surgical intervention on theses cases is amazing. So please, please don't stress out, your dad will do fine, probably after the surgery he is going to be schedule to get some radiation therapy that is definilty going to get the cancer under better control.

Some of my pt also end up needing a tracheostomy (narrow opening on your trachea) but not all cases and they are also able to live a great life and to plenitud.

I know is easy for me to say do not worry, but believe me when I say he will turn around and do great.

When did he had surgery? what are the other plans?

Please feel free to e mail if you have any other questions, hope this helps.

My prayers and heart are with you and your family in these times.

You and your babies will be fine, try to stay calm and not add more stress to your life.

LOL

by Maria2707, Mar 31, 2009 07:54AM
Dreamgirl- I am so sorry to hear about your father. But good news is that he is operated and he is doing fine. Don't stress out too much, he will be fine. Stress is not good for you. Since your mother cannot come over, hiring a nanny is a god option. Take care.

Anya- Its an advantage to carry the baby low. Because as the pregnancy progresses, baby would be kicking the ribs and the pain would get very bad. But for me, pelvic bone pain is bad. I hope it will go away soon. Thanks for your comment in my other post. You know how much we worry unnecessarily..:)

by Anya1984, Mar 31, 2009 09:37AM
Maria - yes, I feel you, we all worry so much its crazy...For example, my baby has been very active but for the last 2 days, she barely kicks...so I get worried..since it will not end, I just try to relax :) How are you gaining weight? Iam gaining about 1 pound per week :)
We only have 14 weeks to go and I hope that my baby will go up later then sooner because I heard that kicking the ribs can be pretty painful.. While she is low, I don't feel much pain from her kicking.. have you noticed the pattern when the baby is awake or sleeping? I haven't really..she still does it randomly, only more active at night, at morning and evening.

by Maria2707, Mar 31, 2009 01:43PM
Anya- Its strange that you should say about baby's movement. My baby was very active past two days not active today..:)  I haven't noticed baby's movement patterns. Its different all the time. Mostly its active in the night. I will ask the doctor when we should start counting baby's movements. I feel I am putting on too much weight. I am putting on more than a pound every week. I also agree with you, its better that baby stays low. Except my pelvic pain rest everything is fine.

by Anya1984, Mar 31, 2009 02:10PM
Maria - I noticed that you and I have a lot similarities...I read in the book that baby is not going to be active every day, like us, they get tired and want to calm down. I hope that's the case..Cuz even after food, she doesn't poke me all that much, maybe once or twice :(
Do you eat a lot? I swear, I never ate SO MUCH in my life! I am eating every 2-3 hours up until 10 p.m.!!! Starting 10 a.m.....Weird that I only gain a pound...although, I still have problems with #2(constupat)...sux :(

by Maria2707, Mar 31, 2009 02:22PM
Anya-Same here. they say as soon as you eat, baby gets active. That's not in my case too. I feel my baby when I sit on the couch with my leg stretched or when sleep. I feel it very low when I sit, right near the panty line.  Dont worry about not putting on weight. 1 pound a week is very good. I don't have consti...but instead I go more often, at least three times a day(TMI- its between LM and regular). I was worried initially, but when I saw the baby growing as per the date, I didn't bother. But I feel I should ask my doctor. Also, it depends on the prenatal vitamin. Try eating banana every day, may be that might help.

by eternidad200, Mar 31, 2009 04:16PM
Maria and Anya- I think is pretty normal to feel the baby moving a lot some days and none other days. Remember every baby is different and I htink ours are still a wee bit little to developed a patter. They say that in the third trimetser is when we should start worrying about bbay's movements.

About weight gain is also different, so far I have gained 15 pounds since I got my BFP. Not too bad, my appetite is normal no much no little.

About constipation depend on your type of diet, if you eat lots of meaty food might make you more constipation, so pile up on vegetables, high in fiber food and see if that  helps. Also drink more than 8 cups of water a days.

Today I noticed some funny little jolts in my belly, I think the baby is having hiccups, isn't that hilarious.

by ZUZ, Mar 31, 2009 08:41PM
HI Girls!  So I've missed a lot again, I see.

Dreamgirl, I'm SO sorry about your father.  Please keep in mind that there are so many different treatment options these days.  I'll keep your family in my prayers and I hope that things start to look up soon!  Try not to stress yourself out.   Take one day at a time and see how it all goes.  Take care of yourself and think about all the positives in your life like a good husband and the two beautiful babies in your tummy.

Maria, you are so lucky to be done with work soon! I envy you. I wish I could do that again but since I already took a year off to go through all the infertility stuff, I must work now. The other thing is we want a house!  We have a nice condo that was pretty new when we bought in 4.5 years ago but there are so many great deals on houses that we want out!  So I need to work to get us out of here faster!!  The good thing is that I have some flexibilty, which is huge!  :)  You definitely need some time to just rest at home.  It ***** that you have so much pain.  I'm sorry.

Anya, I agree with you and Maria on the baby movements after eating.  I feel it when I wake up in the middle of the night too.  I love it.  Its so reassuring!  I went and did that fetal fibrenectin test yesterday but haven't heard back from the doctor.  I think its fine, otherwise they would have called me, wouldn't they???  That sux that your not going on vacation but I understand why.  You're so close to your 3rd trimester! Yay!!!!!!! Oh by the way, eat fruit.  That will help your tummy for sure.  But not bananas.  :)

Eternidad, I've been eating a lot!  But the doctor said I was gaining weight perfectly and my stomach is measuring right on schedule too.  I thought I'd gone way overboard! But I guess not.

Have you guys started looking for baby furniture yet?  I'm happy to say that I've FINALLY picked out furniture!  Now the hard part begins of finding bedding...boy or girl??  Hmmmmmmm.....

Anyway, hope you are all well!  Talk to you soon!

by eternidad200, Apr 01, 2009 09:00AM
Zuz- I am glad everything is looking well for you too. If the docs have not call you means everything is well, but is nreve wrecking having ot wait.

Furniture wise my sister is giving me her crib and I have a dresser, so I just need a baby rocking chair.

My bedding bought online is a Wendy Bellisimo honey bee pattern, unisex, so cute.

Glad everyone else is well too. Bbay is moving a lot and having lots of hiccups today.

by Anya1984, Apr 01, 2009 09:25AM
Eternidad - That is sooo cute, the hiccups!! How do you know and distinguish?

Like Maria's, my baby's kicking on a panty liner...I will go this Friday and ask why is she so low? Not like I worry..

BUT, here is my new "thing"...A lot of times when I pee and relax the muscle, I get a horrible pitching pain in my right side so that I can't walk or move for a while....
does anyone know what that is?

Zuz - I feel you on a house, we finally bought a house last year and we are so happy! That's why I can't quit my job now even though I SO WANT TO!

Bedding is hard because so many different stores have different stuff and damn it is expensive!!! So I am shopping around...I am thinking of buying a crib, a barssenet (sp), bedding, car seat....that's all for now! I have few cribs on my mind but bedding will be hard to pick :)
Also, we bought a couch, I figured it should work since we will have few people in the room most of the times...
as far as rocking chair, they are way too expensive for me...so we decided not to...:(

by dream_girl377, Apr 01, 2009 01:18PM
Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for your caring words, it means a lot to me. I am stressed becuase I am so far away and I can't be there for my family and I can't  take care of father. But I know I have to be positive for my babies. I finally got some sleeps, and I feel much better today. Thanks again, everyone. Even we never met, but I feel I can always trust you girls and share my worries with you.
Eternidad, I am so glad to hear you are work in an oncology floor. If you don't mind, I will email you with my questions.

Regarding baby's movement,  in my case it is very different, someday I feel one baby moves a lot and someday they both move a lot, or both quiet. But I found, as long as I drink lots of fluid, it makes them move, but when I am tired, it seems they are tired also. I think it still early for them to have a schedule. But when we get into the third trimester, we will need to track the movement.
I have a dr. appt. tomorrow, and she will review my last u/s, hopefully everything is fine.

I started to train a staff to take over my work. I will stop working by the end of April, as my dr. said with twins, the labor may happened anytime after 30 weeks. I am hoping I can carry my twins full term.

Take care and hugs to you all.

by Maria2707, Apr 01, 2009 02:09PM
Last night I was unable to sleep. I felt as if I could not breath. I was struggling to sleep for a long time. I didn't want to disturb my dh so went and slept in the spare bedroom.

Anya- Sometimes I get the pain in he lower abdomen after I pee. Do ask when you go for the appointment on Friday. I feel the pain might be because the baby is too low and is pushing the bladder. We have started looking for babies furniture too. They are so expensive in stores, so we decided to look online. I have seen bedding and car seat at Amazon. Crib and diaper changer from Sam's club. Anya check the rockers at Amazon. they are not that expensive as the stores. What else do we need? By the way some of the some of the hospitals give a car sear. Call and find out from the hospital you are delivering. I will buy only necessity things.

Zuz- Its really a relief to stay at home. I am tired. One less stress not going to work. :) . I understand how important it is to have two income. We bought our house in 2006 . This is the right time to buy the house, with lesser interest rates and house values. We bought in the peak time..:(.

Eternidad- I have put on around 16 pounds so far. Most of the weight gain was past two months. I agree with you in baby's movements, but sometimes we get so paranoid worrying why baby is not moving a lot.

Dreamgirl- I understand your pain. You are so far from your family. That's what I go through too.  Just pray for your fathers quick recovery. Once you have the baby, may be you can plan a trip home and show your lovely boys to your family.:)  My parents will be here end of this month. Depending on the immigration, they will be able to stay here for maximum of 6 months. I am looking forward to see them.

by Maria2707, Apr 01, 2009 02:19PM
Dreamgirl-  I just wanted to tell you this. Its good you are quitting end of this month. I want you to carry the boys till full term. I think lot of bed rest is good. Remember that octuplets mother, she delivered at 31 weeks carrying 8 babies(She was on total bed rest from 22nd week) I am sure you will carry your babies to full term.

by eternidad200, Apr 01, 2009 04:50PM
Zuz- Hang in there, Maria is right we want you to go full term, is the best for the babies and we are sure you can make it. Working until April is a good idea then you can take easy.

Maria- getting to sleep is nowdays a hassle, I toss and turn so many times. Maybe bc baby moves a lot at night or who knows, is just very unconfortable.

Anya- The hiccups are like a little flutter but more constatnt and like our hiccups and they feel funny. Nothing we can do about it, just wait.

by ZUZ, Apr 01, 2009 07:23PM
Hi Everyone!  How are you all?  I'm doing good, just tired.  I, like you ladies, am not sleeping very well. I've been feeling exhausted everyday.  It doesn't help to know it's gonna get worse as the baby and tummy grow.  I got a call from the doctors office today and they said that my fetal fibrnectin test came back negative.  That means that they are 99% sure that we will not be meeting baby in the next 2 weeks.  So thats AWESOME!

Dreamgirl, say lots of prayers and have faith that God is watching over you and your family and giving you all the strength to endure...

Anya, sounds like you've really started!  I haven't bought anything!  I've seen such beautiful bedding.  It's just hard to choose rigth now because I don't know what I'm having!  I'll attach a link of the crib, armoire, and dresser we're getting.  I'm still iffy on the color.  I love the cherry but its too dark for what I'm envisioning for the nursery.  The Sea Breeze looks so yellow in the picture but I saw a nice sample piece.  It looks more like a white wahed wood, not yellow.

Maria, you've gone thru a lot from the very beginning with this pregnancy.  You really deserve some downtime and I'm glad you're able to get it.  About your house, be happy you are already in one!!!  :)

Here's the bedroom set we're getting:

http://www.munirefurniture.com/pdfs/bristol.pdf

Let me know what you guys think! :)

P.S.  Happy 26 weeks Maria!!  We're all getting closer!!  Woo Hoo!

by eternidad200, Apr 02, 2009 10:28AM
Zuz- I loe the furniture, is beautiful, well built and elegant. I think the sea breeze is my favorite, I don't like much dark colors but either one will be great.

by Maria2707, Apr 02, 2009 10:50AM
Hello Girls!!

How are you all doing today? I am planning to go for glucose test tomorrow. During my last appointment my OB said I should go for the test in three weeks. So three weeks was yesterday. Still deciding should I go tomorrow or Monday. Is there is any thing I should do/eat/drink so that my result comes normal...hehehe.

Zuz- Yep!!! Welcome to 26th week. Glad to know that your test came negative. What is this test called? My doctor never asked for this test.
Baby furniture looks very good. But they don't show the price online..do they? I checked out closest store to our place is around 27 mile, may be we will go there are take a look at it. But I guess we will end up buying online.

Eternidad- You are right, baby is more active these days. They say they more active till 28 weeks as they have enough space to move around. I also get heart burn sometimes and that makes it more difficult to sleep.

Anya- How are you doing? two more days you will start 27th week..how exciting..:)

by Anya1984, Apr 02, 2009 02:25PM
Zuz- I actually like both colors, but I would go with Cherry cuz I like it, even though it could be little dark for a nursery...I bought a couch a moca color and probably have a cherry crib...maybe not, I m not sure...bedding is the hardest, because I don't want to buy anything expensive, and all of the online stuff is REALLY expensive...

Maria - we need pump machine and all that nice stuff for the baby when it comes...like bottles, warmers, blah blah...I will think about it in May-June, don't want to buy anything too early :)

I will ask about pains tomorrow because they make me worry sometimes...maybe your theory is right and its the baby kicking..

I don't remember when the last time I slept through the night...please take care of yourself Maria, and get plenty of sleep!!!! I too, can't find a good position for myself and find myself not sleeping 3-4 hours at night...which makes me super tired at work...and then I still have to go to school, grrrr...

I can't wait to be 27 weeks, that means, the third trimester starts for me!! WOHO!
Maria, why do you take your glucose test at 26 weeks? My doc said, at 28 when I should take it...so I have another 2 weeks...

by eternidad200, Apr 03, 2009 09:09AM
Hi girls.
Maria- nice you are going to have your glucose test done. Mine is going to be next week. Sad part of it is there isnothing you can eat or drink that makes it better.

Anya- the glucose test is done between 24-28 weeks, anytime in between. Mine will be at 26 weeks, so is fine.
About breastpump, I bought mine online on craigslist (is used) a Medela Pump in Style they suppose to be the best, usually their price is around 300, but got mine for 100. I just going to sterilize the bottles and tubes very welll and it should be fine.

I don't want to be spending much money, I want good things but not expensive ones and babies stuff are so expensive.

Have you guys heard from Joyce. She suppose to have a c section schedule right?

by Maria2707, Apr 03, 2009 10:15AM
Eternidad- You are right glucose test is done between 24-28 weeks. I was supposed to go on Wednesday, but postponed it to today. But today I am not feeling good and I am very tired as I did not get to sleep properly last night. Would lack of sleep  effect the test results? Not sure what to do.

Anya-How did your appointment go today? I am getting poking pains in my right lower abdomen and also pains in my tummy. There are so many things to buy for the baby. I will make a list and buy them in June.

by Anya1984, Apr 03, 2009 10:56AM
Maria - I don't think that lack of sleep would matter on glucose...I am positive it wouldn't! So you should be fine!
Weird, by my doc specifically said that at 28 weeks... :(
I guess its fine..
I am off to a midwife in 30 minutes and I really hope everything is good and well...
I had a very bad day yesterday cuz I got some bad pains in one part of my stomach, plus I felt nausious, shooting pain in my back, NO SLEEP....so I hope today is going to be a better day! I got so scared for my baby, I cried...:( Stupid me :(
anyway, Maria, I hope your test goes fine!

Eternidad- I also thought about Joyce, is she alright?
Also I heard that if you buy used pump, you should not sterilize the bottles and tubes but buy new ones!
You can buy new pumps for about $200 from amazon, I think I will do that...They are very very expensive but it is something that I believe should be only yours :)

by eternidad200, Apr 03, 2009 11:17AM
Anya- yep you are probably right, but in my opinion I think it will be o.k for me and my baby as long everything else is pretty sterile (which I can do at work).

About Joyce I haven't heard anything, I psoted a note on her site will see if she answers.

Maria- You will probably be o.k, but if you did not get enough sleep and are feeling tired take a day off, and go back tomorrow. Sometimes if our stress levels are high, lab resukts might be altered in some ways, not always. I think one more day won't make a difference.

by Maria2707, Apr 03, 2009 12:30PM
I am the hospital waiting for the blood test. They just made me drink the sweetest drink on earth.....too sweet. They will call me in an hour for the blood to be drawn.

Eternidad- I was thinking of coming tomorrow, but they are open only till 12noon. So I said I will get it done today. I am very sleepy otherwise I am fine. I hope the blood test comes out normal.May be I should have come tomorrow..:)

Anya- I feel you, it must have been so scary. How is the pain now? I hope you talked to your MW about that. I am getting pain on my lower right side... I think it's the baby. Don't worry, baby is fine. I was looking the pumps in amazon and they are above 200. I prefer to buy new one. I also heard that some of the hospitals rent it out. But I want my own..

by dream_girl377, Apr 03, 2009 04:08PM
Hi Girls,
I went my dr. appt. yesterday. The person who did my u/s had trouble to see the placenta since baby A's head was very very low. But she did not tell me at that time. So I still don't know whether or not the placenta has moved up. I will have to wait for my next u/s to find out.   On the urine test, they found 2+sugar, it could cuased becoz the organge juice I had in the morning. I will need to do glucose test sometime of next week. In order to get the accurate result, I think I will not drink juice or milk before I do the glucose.  Should I also need to do a blood test? My dr. did not request that.

Maria,ZUZ, Enternidad, Thank you for your support. I felt better lately as I talked to my father every day. He is recovering from the sugery and start to eat fluid food. My family  is staying positive, we believe he will survive. I will pray for my dad.

ZUZ,  I love the color of sea breeze. How much they sale it on line? Is it cheaper? I am sure they will also charge on shipping.

Anya, sorry to hear your pain. Hope you will feel better. I have lower back pain every single night. I woke every 2 to 3 hours either becuase of the pain or make a trip to the bath room. We are almost there, another 12 weeks to go.

by eternidad200, Apr 03, 2009 05:48PM
dreamgirl- I am so glad your father is doing better and recovering well. God praised. Lot sof prayers and constant support will help him all the way.

Sorry they could not see your placenta, when are they going to look at it again?

I definitly think you should get a blood glucose test, they probably will suggested later before your 28 weeks. Is part of the protocol for every pregnant women.

LOL and keep your hopes up.

by ZUZ, Apr 03, 2009 10:47PM
Eternidad, my Glucose test is next Mon.  I think I read that it could be done anywhere from 24-28 weeks.  What day is yours?

Dreamgirl, i'm glad to hear your dad is getting better.  Many thanks to God for that.  I found a couple of places that carry the Munire brand fro the baby furniture.  So far, the best quote I got for a crib, dresser, and armoire was about $2,300. I think it's a good buy since the crib converts to a full size bed so baby can use it for a long time.  I think I'm going with the sea breeze color.  The cherry is beautiful but its too...heavy. I really want the babys room to be light and airy.  I just hope that the sea breeze set comes in to the showroom at the store i was at soon so i could see the true color.

Maria, I've been so exhausted too.  I'm really not sleeping well at all. How are you feeling today? How did your test go??? I think my baby shower is going to be in June and my sister has ordered me to register for baby things!  :)

Anya, how did your appt go today? Are you still having pains?

by eternidad200, Apr 04, 2009 04:58PM
Zuz my appoitment for the glucose test is this tuesday, so I have to drink the nasty orange flavor drink, hopefully everything is well.

Maria- how did your test go?

Anya- how was your appoitment with the midwife. Hope  you liked it.

by Maria2707, Apr 04, 2009 09:21PM
Eternidad- I am still waiting for the results of the test. I guess they will be sending the results directly to my OB. I have my appointment on the 8th. If he gets the result before that I might get a call from my doctor's office. I hope It comes back normal.

Zuz- That is very expensive for the baby furniture. I must agree it is beautiful though. I have looked at some furniture from jcpenney, still deciding on it. Check the link below.

Anya-  How is he pain in the lower abdomen? How was your appointment with your Mid Wife? Were you satisfied with the visit?

hey ladies, popping in to say hello.  its great to see you are all doing well and your bellies are growing.  i already miss mine and i have only been without it for 7 weeks.  jaedyn and i are doing awsome.  i just got his pics taken yesterday, check them out, they are so cute.

are all of you noticing that you are needing larger maternity clothes?  i loved the secret belly jeans from motherhood maternity.  they were reasonably prices at between 25-30 dollars and are so comfy.  i am still wearing them now because i still can not fit into my pre pregnancy jeans.

by ZUZ, Apr 05, 2009 07:21PM
Eternidad, I'm sure all will go well!!  You'll have to let me know how it goes!

Maria, the bedroom set your looking at is beautiful.  Have you been looking at bedding as well?  That part is so difficult!  I know the bedroom set is pricey but I just love it!  :)  I'm sure your results will be normal.  Did you eat before you went in?  My sister told me that she'd had a glass of orange juice before her test and it came back positive.  They freaked her out, put her on a very strict diet fro a week, then retested.  Everything turned out ok.  :)  My doctor told me not to stop at Krispy Kreme before the test next week.  I'm just not eating!

Leighanne, the pictures are beautiful!  He looks like a little angel.  God bless him!  :)

by Anya1984, Apr 06, 2009 08:37AM
Hello girls!!!
Sorry I was doing my midterm on the weekend so I didn't get a chance to come to the thread. Question, when does a third trimester starts? Different places say different things...Definately at 28 weeks , but some say at 27?! I am 27w1d so I was wondering is it time to celebrate yet? :)

So I had the most amazing appt with a MW, my hubby and I absolutely loved her! She spent almost 2 hours with us, explaining everything and examing me (which was not so pleasant)...She said I could have an yeast infection (YACK!!! I don't feel it but shoot,,,who knows?) and I will find out tomorrow when the test comes back. Also, she said I MIGHT be droping amniotic fluid (scared me to death!) so she scheduled an u/s for me today! I am going in an hour...I REALLY REALLY hope that everything is going to be OK there.... I am also worried because I keep getting kicked and pushed HARD on one spot and I am wondering and hoping that its the baby and she just likes bruising me LOL...but it can get very very painful and it is to the left of my belly button....same spot over and over and over.... MW said that my baby is already head down ( YEAH!) but she might move around more...cuz we still have another 13 weeks to go..

Anyway, my biggest worry is the u/s in an hour, and I will let you know when I come back! But as far as MW goes.....no comparison with doctors!! She is soooo patient and nice and kind....docs always are in a hurry, this one took all the time in the world!
Oh she told me to eat low fat calory food becuase her words " Our generation eats too much of fatty food with lots of calories and gains tooo much weight"...I gained about 17-18 pounds ( all butt and stomach, my face is still the same), and she said I am totally fine but still advised to eat low calories diet...well I cut my 2nd dinner at 9 p.m. and going to bed very hungry...so I was 120 lbs for the last few days and then dropped to 118...but I also excercised a lot yesterday...

Maria -how did your glucose go?
I will go sometimes this week...was that drink ok to drink? You didn't feel like puking did you?
Eternidad- when is yours?
Zuz, we are getting there!!!!
Dreamgirl- I am so happy that your dad is recovering! These are wonderful news! when is your next u/s?

by ZUZ, Apr 06, 2009 09:07AM
Anya, don't worry about your U/S.  Just listen to whatever they tell you!  It'll be fine. When did you do the fetal fibrenectin test?

by Maria2707, Apr 06, 2009 11:11AM
Hello Girls!!!
My OB called me yesterday evening with the glucose results... not good news.. I have Gestational diabetes. He said the level is very high and hence they wont be doing the three hour test. This is not good news for me. I have an appointment at the diabetes center on Monday. May be they will go over with my diet plan. I did all I could, I had totally eliminated sugar from my diet and was eating healthy. Why did I have to get GD. Its been bothering a lot. Is this because I have PCOS or because its in the genes(My mom has type 2 diabetes)?

Well to add to this, he said my hemoglobin level is low and I have to take over the counter iron supplements. Can anyone suggest which is good one. I have my regular ob appointment on Wednesday. I will ask him lots of questions then.

Anya- Welcome to 27th week. Dont worry about the u/s. Everything will be fine. How did your MW tell you that you are losing amnio fluid? How would we know?
What kind of exercise do you do? I should start doing exercise too. I am putting on lots of weight and I truly hope its me putting and not the baby. I heard that if mother has GD, baby will become big. Let me know how the u/s goes.

by Anya1984, Apr 06, 2009 12:10PM
Maria - wow, I just read your post about GD....now what is that mean for you? Does that mean you will need to change the diet and what else? Will you need to take any pills, be on bed rest? You know it is only temporary and it should go away after the baby is born? I just don't want you to get all upset about it becuase its not the end of the world! :) Honestly! The major thing is that our babies are healthy and you will hold yours in 3 months! The GD should go away and you will forget you had it!
My MW told me that my blood cell count is low but I don't remember what supplement she advised me to have :( I will go for my glucose test this Saturday or maybe Friday...
But again, please don't be stressed out! We are here with you!!

To: Update about US
Hello Zuz, Eternidad, Maria!
So I had my u/s and everything looks great! My fluid is there and that's plenty so I am not leaking anything ( Maria, my MW thought I could be cuz when she examined me, she saw some clear liquid) and my cervix is long!
The baby is head down and is 2.1 lbs :) I am measuring 26w4d though :( But tech said its totally fine, 3 days won't make  a difference :) The baby is deliberately kicking me on one spot and it was confirmed...she likes where she lays and so her legs are kicking me on one spot...I hope she won't move around too much now as I like her to be head down :) Oh and we also saw her beautiful face on 3 D!! :) She looks like a little piggy :) LOL
So, I will have my glucose test sometimes this week, and I hope everything will be good... I still get pains when I relax the "muscle" and sometimes when I move but I guess its just the weight on uterus...

Maria, about excersis, I found something for exercising when pregnant so I am using those excersises....My midwife say that we should exercise every day for an hour (or walk for an hour)...and eat low calories food...I cut my food after 9 p.m. and I think I put just enough weight for right now :) Still, 3 more months when the baby REALLY GROWS!

by eternidad200, Apr 06, 2009 12:44PM
Anya- glad evrything turned out well for you, and you love your midwife, they are very nice. Is nice to hear you feel more comfortable about your baby kicking you around the belly, specially by the belly button. I got the same kind of pain about 2 months ago, and it was fine, just the baby, sometimes they like to be in one spot all the time.
You got your 3D pic, how nice, don't you love it, is so great.

Maria- I know you are very worry right now about GD, glad you are going to see  diabetes councelor. The whole deal about GD is that you will have to watch you rdiet more closely, no sugary food, watch over carbohydrates bc when they break down the turn down into glucose. Also you will have to go more frequently to your prenantal visits so they can monitor your blood sugar. This is what I found in one of my nursing textbooks:

With GD what happens is that all pregnancies has alteartions in maternal blood glucosse metabolism and insulin production. Glucose is the primary fuel used by the fetus.

During second and thirth trimester  bc hormonal changes insulin resistance increase  so our glucose levels can be higher and it can be increasing or declining by 36 weeks. So if you follow the recommendations ther is a good change you might not have diabetes after pregnacy.

Your doc probably wants to keep a close eye on you and the baby, but try not to stress out bc it rises your blood glucose and just follow the recommendations for your diet. There is nothing you coul ddo about this but try to follow everything to make your pregnancy go smooth.

Some of th ebooks explain that if you follow your diet, divide food in 3 meals, avoid sugars, alcohol and caffeine the changes of having a c-section or an early baby decreases.

I hope this explanation helps you. I know you are worry, me too. Probbaly r/t my age I am a high rish for having GD, also bc the amount of hormones I had to take to conceive during my IVF, etc.  Remeber when the doc told me in my last visit she had to keep an eye on my belly bc meausre a little bigger that might have something to do with baby being big and probably GD, so will see friend.

But remember we have made it this far and will keep going on, and our babies will be great and perfect.
Love to you all.

I am 29w2d! Getting close!!

by eternidad200, Apr 06, 2009 01:18PM
Bryanarae- 29 weeks whohooo, time is moving well.

by eternidad200, Apr 06, 2009 03:05PM
girls I posted more belly pics. I love taking pics of my belly, it is such a good way to keep memories of my pregnancy. I go for my glucose test tomorrow at 3 pm, keeping fingers crossed but will see.

by Anya1984, Apr 06, 2009 03:47PM
Eternidad- nice belly pictures! It looks like you are also carrying low? Mine is much smaller but the same shape...more on the bottom then top :)
Good luck with glucose test tomorrow!! I will go either Friday or SAt, my lab doesn't do appts, so I just come in , drink it, sit for an hour and have blood work done.
I also hope that everything turns out ok....cuz I am eating lots of sweets :( Not that much but definately something every day....

Bryanarae - definately, being 29 weeks is awesome!! I still have two more to go to be 29, can't wait!

My next milestone is 28 weeks, when I will get into 3rd trimester and then 32 weeks :)
After 32 weeks, the chances of survival are VERY GOOD so I will stop worrying :)

I have exactly 3 more months to go :)

by Maria2707, Apr 06, 2009 05:23PM
Anya- I am glad your u/s went well. Isn't that amazing to see your princess in 3D. I wish I will get a 3D u/s. Well my doctor said, if the level does not go down to normal after the diet, I will be put on medication. Thanks a lot for the nice words.. you know how worried this makes me. I dont want the the baby to put on too much weight.

Eternidad- Thanks for the support and the information. I don't know what I would have done without you girls around. This thread has been a great support for all of us. I saw your pictures..lovely. I am carrying exactly like you and looks like its the same size.
Don't worry about tomorrows test. Be calm, I was so stressed on the day of the test and I feel that added to the high level. Do you think my baby has put on too much weight already??

Bryanarae- 29 weeks..Wow! you are getting close...

by eternidad200, Apr 06, 2009 06:45PM
Maria- No, I don't think your baby has put too much weight. I think everything is well, and sometimes some babies are grow faster than others. In my case my belly is already 4 inches above my belly button, menaing my fundus height is a little bit higher than average, but that does not mean the baby is too big for the gestational age.

I think you are going to be fine, bc you haven't gained too much weight neither, is just a matter of hormones during pregnancy. I know we will do fine.
LOL

by ZUZ, Apr 06, 2009 07:40PM
Hi All,

Anya, I'm glad your appt went well.  It definitely very cool to see your baby!  So awesome to hear that shes growing so fast!! Just think, you'll get to be holding baby in 3 more months!  Woo Hoo  :)

Eternidad, your belly shots are so adorable!!  I do not take enough. Actually, I've taken none.  The only pics I've taken are the few I was in in FL.  I should do it.  Its such a great memory.  Good luck on your test tomorrow.  Let us know how it goes!

Maria, I"m so sorry about the GD.  :(  Just follow doctors orders and all should go well.  A lot of women develop GD, whether there is family history or not.  It just happens sometimes.  A girl that I work with got it with her second child only. Her baby was born at 7 lbs and he is 4 months now.  She is still checked for diabetes but so far, nothing. I'm sure baby is growing just fine.  Your doctor tracks that by measuring your belly every month.  I'm sure it'll be tough to follow a stricter diet but the good news is that its only for three months!  I'll keep you and baby in my prayers. I"m glad you'll be home for good soon.  You really need some rest and relaxation.

by eternidad200, Apr 07, 2009 10:37AM
Zuz, Anya- thanks for the comment on the belly pics. I know is so much fun to take them and see how every months the belly gets in different shapes. Hubby and I talked about taking tons of pics to keep as memories. We both know this is our only chance for pregnancy, as you guys know it tooks us 5 years to get here with lots of treaments and also the age thing is not a good factor.
So now we are trying to get the max out of everything. We even talk about hiring a photographer to take opics of the baby once baby is born, and one monthly pic of us starting next month, so we can show our little how momma and papa looked while preggo.

by Maria2707, Apr 07, 2009 11:13AM
Eternidad- Wow!! Such a wonderful thought. I haven't taken any pictures till now. During my first pregnancy I took lot of pictures and this time I am little uneasy about that. I should take some pictures atleast to show our kid how mama looked while carrying him/her. I love your preggo pictures. It has taken a lot for us to come to we are. Its 5 years for us too. We are going to treasure this and value it.

Zuz- Thanks a lot for the assurance. I will try to stay positive. I told my mom about the GD and she said not worry. She will take care of my diet as soon as she gets here. Cant wait to see her....:)

by Anya1984, Apr 07, 2009 01:17PM
Maria - where is your mother coming from? Yes, don't worry about GD, that's totally not a big issue at all!! as long as your baby is healthy and I don't think it will put too much weight!
I can't believe you and Eternidad have the same stomach size and all!!! I feel soo left out :) Mine is twice as small as Eternidad's...and the baby is measuring 3 days behind actually :( but tech said not to worry, its nothing :) So far, I gained about 17 pounds.

Eternidad - the 3D was really quick, like less then 20 seconds, the tech just briefly showed me her face and it was adorable :) I am glad that so far everything goes well with my pregnancy, and I am glad that we all are here on this thread...
As I was swimming today morning, I thought about us...how we all came together right a way after we got pregnant and stayed as a team !!! :) I wish my school group team can work as good as we do!! I am glad that we are supporting each other and share our thoughts! It is very important to me!

I am planning to take that glucose test tomorrow morning, so hopefully I will know results in a week.

Eternidad, how did yours go?
Zuz - when are you scheduling yours?

Girls, we will soon be in a last trimester and I will create a new thread in 2 weeks !! I believe that third trimester starts at 28 weeks!
HANG IN THERE!

by Maria2707, Apr 07, 2009 01:54PM
Anya- My parents are coming from India end of this month. Once  they are here... it will be nice. My DH takes care of me a lot. Poor thing he has to work and do so much and I feel bad.
Don't worry about your tummy. As I once mentioned, my friend is so small and we were surprised that she delivered a 8 pound baby.  It also depends where your placenta is lying and your tummy would be right on time. You just wait and see these tree months bay will grow so fast. According to the books, babies gain at least a ounce every week in the third trimester.Three days behind is not a problem at all. Doctors don't worry if its a week. According to my u/s I am three days ahead. My worried about GD is that I cant eat what I want now. They say, pregnancy is a perk so that you can eat what you want...hmmm now I am on strict diet. Yesterday, I could not take it, had some Sara lee's pound cake..I love them.. My DH was..you cant do like that. hahaha. I said it wont happen again as we wont bring that anymore.

I agree with you. We have stuck here together as a family. We have been here since the time we got of BFP's. We should stay in touch always. We all have come a long way. Three more months... I want to hear about all your babies. :)

Good luck on your test. Your test will come negative. My result came back in a day. I went for test on Friday and doc called me Sunday evening to give the results. I guess he hurried to give the results because mine was positive. When do you do for your appointment again. Is it going to be MW of OB? I go for my appointment tomorrow afternoon.

Zuz- When do you go fro your glucose test?

Eternidad- How did your test go today?

by Anya1984, Apr 07, 2009 02:17PM
Maria - I am going to have the test done on Thursday because we are expecting guests today and I will eat some cake. For the test, I don't want to eat anything sweet for the whole day prior the day of test...so I will go on Thursday :)
You must be excited that your parents are coming, both of them? Are they going to be staying with you for a while and take care of a newborn? I feel for you not eating everything, remember, I have a galbladder stones so I am on a low fat diet with no cheese at all which I LOVE! But sweets, its much worse :( I feel for you but hang in there, only 3 more months! I can't wait to meet my little one!!!!

My next appt with MW is next Thursday. From now on , I will see them every two weeks! I noticed that my baby is not active during the day when I am at work, I wonder why?
Do you still have pain on your pelvic?

by Maria2707, Apr 07, 2009 02:23PM
I understand you... by not eating what we like.. :( See what sacrifices we do for our baby.
Yes, my parents will try to be here for few months. They will return after the baby is born.

So the appointment if for every two weeks after week 27? By the way, my baby is not moving a lot these days. I just feel a pop in the lower abdomen or a twist once in a while. I guess that's normal. Did you ask your MW?

I still have the pelvic pain and it seem it will stay until I deliver.:(

by Anya1984, Apr 07, 2009 02:42PM
Maria - no :( I forgot to ask...what was I suppose to ask? :) The baby has its good days when it is very active and days when its resting...so my pattern is usually, 2 days of VERY ACTIVE , then a day when I barely feel her...and then sometimes she is active at night but sometimes just a few kicks a day...
I heard that after certain week, the baby needs to do 10 kicks at 3 hour period? Something like that...I think its after 28 weeks...I am slowly approaching that mark and I wouldn't say that my baby does 10 kicks so often!

by eternidad200, Apr 07, 2009 03:54PM
Girls I am back from my OB appoit and glucose test was done. They say it will take up to 3 days to get the results, if is positive they will call me right away but if i see 3 days have pass and no call then everything is well. ARghhhhhh.

About my OB appoit doc says everything looks well but bbay still measuring bigger for gestational age, so probably I will get an u/s pretty soon, she wants o make sure I don't dellivery a giant I guess, ja, ja, ja...

I asked about bbay movements and she say ispretty normal to feel baby sometimes a lot and sometimes none.

I was worried bc I have been feeling a throbbing like, flutter, fast, sometng right where my pevic bone in the middle, like if the baby was having seizures or something, and she says is pretty normal bc bbay sometimes kick or punchs really fast in same spot. I told her it did not feel like a kick or punch but he says she is sure is the baby.

Also the pain around the belly button is getting more above belly button like 4 inches above and she reassure me is was baby and uterus stretching.

So I guess everything went well, expect that baby is bigger she things maybe measuring 2 weeks ahead, maybe not. So the perks of this like I though is that maybe I might delivery early then expected (but I guess I knew that, my fertility doc told me that ne of the risk of IVF and babies conceive through infertility treatments is that we have a higher risk of babies coming out earlier)

by ZUZ, Apr 07, 2009 05:53PM
Maria, that's great that your parents are coming soon! That should ease some of your stress.  I almost wish someone would put me on a diet! I'm such a pig lately!  I don't know how I've been good on the weight gain.  Oh well, I should just say thank God and keep eating!  I'm so sorry that you have to alter your diet.  I'm sure its not easy!

Anya, it's perfectly ok for your baby to be measuring a little bigger or a little smaller.  They all grow at different rates.  I know that your little munchkin is perfect!

Eternidad, I think its cool that you may get to meet baby early!  It sounds like you have a great OB.  Its nice to be assured that all is going well!

I gotta say, its been so awesome going thru this journey with you all.  You've been such a great support system thru all of this.  I really look forward to sharing baby stories with you guys!  It would be so nice if we could all meet some day.  :)

OH!  BTW, my test is scheduled for Mon at 9am.

by Anya1984, Apr 08, 2009 09:33AM
Eternidad - wow, the baby could be measuring 2 weeks ahead? But arent't these good news that you will deliver early? As long as baby is fully developed! When is your current due date?
Hopefully you wont hear from your doc about the test in the next three days...Mine is tomorrow morning for sure now! I feel the same, sometimes my baby is very quiet, like for the last few days :( I worry all the time when that happens :( I don't get any pains lately except BH that are still not painful :)
Weird but even after I eat, she refuses to move around ;(
So is it common that if we conceived through fertility treatments (IUI, IVF), you have higher chances of delivering early? I would love to deliver at 39 weeks...that would be perfect!

ZUZ- I know, I am eating a lot myself, only lately I try to eat a little less..I noticed that I can't eat more than a little meal at a time because it doesn't go through and gets stuck in my throat...because of less room in my stomach...but I am hungry all the time....

Maria and Zuz- Congrats, you are not 27 weeks!!!
One more week to go and we all going to be in a third trimester!!
Eternidad -when do you hit 28 weeks? I think once we all are in 28 weeks, I will create a new thread :)

by eternidad200, Apr 08, 2009 10:10AM
Anya- I know going early is not so bad as long as the baby is fully developed. Right now I was talking to one of my friends she is RN from a neonatal unitl and she says that usually is best if babies hold until after the 36 week bc before taht baby has troubles with swallowing and they need tobe fed through a tube.

Right now I am only 26 weeks and 4 days, so still 2 more weeks to hit 28 weeks. I think is a new idea to have a new thread this one is getting kind of long.

Zuz-Maria glad you are doing well.

by Anya1984, Apr 08, 2009 12:51PM
Eternidad - yes, this thread is pretty long, maybe I will create a new one on Monday and call it "27 weeks and up" :)
Yes I know that it is best to be at least 36 weeks to deliver...8 more weeks for me until I hit that point...sounds soo long! Of course , 3 more months is not 7 months...so it is better to have only 3 months left...plus, as we progress, more "things" will happen to us-painwise and tiredwise...I hope we can manage and all deliver to a full term!!

by Maria2707, Apr 08, 2009 01:10PM
Hello girls!!
I will be going for my appointment in few minutes. My tummy hurts when I sleep also there is this sharp pain on the right right of my lower abdomen. I am thinking its the baby..or may be its the pelvic pain. I will talk to my doctor today. I am not feeling the baby that much today. Just once in a while a pop or a twist. I will discuss with my doctor. Also I am going to the bathroom(#2) very often lately. Its semi loose(TMI). I went like 4 or 5 times yesterday. I would like to get an u/s if possible. Lets see what my doc has to say.

Anya-  Thanks!! I start 27th week today. You are right, this thread is getting longer. I too want to see my next mile stone 28 weeks and then 32 and then 36... that will be a big relief.

Eternidad- Don't worry too much! Lets wait for your u/s then you will know. I have a feeling you might have a boy.:) Even if you ar two weeks ahead you will deliver by 37 or 38 weeks and that's the full term. Lets not worry. We are all here for you and we too worry exactly like you..:) No end to worries..

Zuz- Welcome to 27th week.and the beginning of 7th month.

Dreamgirl- Hope you are doing fine.

Eternidad, did you hear from Joyce?

by eternidad200, Apr 08, 2009 02:33PM
Maria- sorry to hear your tummy is hurting, hopefully the docs can give you an answer. I think is r/t baby growing, but always better to wait for the docs. Maybe r/t loose stools. Ask them to see if they can do an u/s is always reassuring to see baby is well. About the movements me too, sometimes baby moves a lot, dometimes nothing I think is prety normal.

I haven't heard anything from Joyce I sent her a mesage but nothing, hope she is o.k

Keep us posted.

by Maria2707, Apr 08, 2009 03:12PM
Eternidad-I just got back from the doctor. Baby's heart beat was 160. I told him about the bowel movement might because of the food I ate.. Ia m not sure what different I ate. He also mentioned about GD. I should test 4 times a day. This will start after my appointment with the dietitian next week. And they are going to do an u/s in two weeks(21st April). That's a relief.

I mentioned about the tummy pain, he said does it come in 5 minutes intervals.. I said no its constant. Then he said its nothing to worry. Sometimes these doctors dont tell everything in detail

About the babies movement, the nurse said that I should try to count the kicks. Should try to count after every meal. So three times a day. The combined movement should be 10 in one and half hour period spread across three meals.

by dream_girl377, Apr 08, 2009 04:14PM
Hi girls,  wow, just few days I didn't log in, I can see I missed a lot.
Thank God, my father is discharged from the hospital. Thank you for all your support.
I have done my gluecose test yesterday and need to wait for 3 days to get the result.
My lower back pain is killing me lately, specially during my sleeping time at night. I don't have good sleep and keep waking up about every 2 hours.
My next u/s is 4/30

Maria, sorry to hear about your GD. My dr. also warned me to watch I eat. I have gained 45 pounds already. I was skinny before I got pregnant, now I am in extra large. I am so happy for you that your parents are coming. You are so lucky.

Anya, it is great to have MW who can spend so much time with you. As what you said, my dr. is always in a hurry, I never spent more than 30 minitues with her.

Eternidad, Your belly is cute, you are carrying the baby at the front , that is great. My belly is much bigger. I will post mine next.

ZUZ, I am glad to hear you are doing well and eat a lot. I think I gained my weight is little too fast, so I am trying to control a little bit now.

by eternidad200, Apr 08, 2009 05:12PM
Dreamgirl- glad you are gaining weigh and babies are healthy. I am pretty sure that with two cute little ones in there your belly is popping out like crazy. Is so nice to hear good news about your dad too. Send him allour prayers.

Maria- u/s in 2 weeks no bad. Why is the u/s ordered for again, bc th GD? I am pretty sure everything will be fine. Nice to hear you have appoitm with dietitian, down side is you have to pinch yourself 4 times a day, like good old times while the treatments were going.
About the baby movements I don't think that my baby moves 10 times after each meal, bbay moves throuout the day but not specifically after meals, well I guess everyone is different.

by Maria2707, Apr 08, 2009 06:36PM
Eternidad- I am not sure why he asked for an u/s. May be because of GD. He just said we'll do an u/s in two weeks. Yes I have to ***** 4 times a day and that's not good. the last time I pricked myself was during the fertility meds. When the nurse said about counting 10, its not at one stretch and I guess its spread out. My baby doesn't kick after eating. He/she definitely does when my stomach is growling when I am hungry.

Dreamgirl- I am glad your father is doing well and is at home now. Send all our prayers to him. Dont worry about the weight gain. You are carrying two.. :)  It will get easier for my once my mother comes here. I understand how much you were looking forward for your mother come over. But at least your in-laws are here to help you out.
Don't worry about the GD, even if you end up having you can control with diet and meds. You will be fine.

by eternidad200, Apr 09, 2009 06:52AM
Girls I have had the worse night in my life. Baby was pushing so hard in my lower abdomen that I could not sleep, anywhere I moved it was painful and uncomfortable. And to top it all I had leg cramps all night, ughhh. Now today I am working all day, will see how it goes.
Darn, I wish we could do better financially so I did not have to work so much. DH is very supportive and says I can stop and we will figure out, but I know if I stop working now we are going to have troubles making lots of  house payments and others. ARghhh. Wish the real estate market will do better to sell our house and move to something smaller and more affordable.

Sorry guys, a little bit frustrated today.

by Maria2707, Apr 09, 2009 07:49AM
Etrnidad- I am so sorry to hear about your night. I understand what you went through. I too am having pains like that. I hope you are not having a busy day work, at least you can relax once in a while. Are you sitting whole day or do you get chance to lay down for sometime? Don't sit for longer hours, that might lead to back pain later on. We have come so far and these three months will go by very soon.  I hear you when you say about the payments.. we want to refinance, but we know when they ***** the property its going to be lesser than hat we paid. Anya- Did you go for your glucose test today? How did it go?

by Anya1984, Apr 09, 2009 10:14AM
Eternidad - Ohh, I am so sorry that you had a rough night..I have similar story, every night when I go to bad, my princess starts kicking on one spot over and over and over and over...again! So, it is pretty painful and it takes me a WHILE to sleep...then I always wake up either at 3, 4 , or 5 and don't go back to bed until 6:30-7, the time I need to get up for work :(
I had leg cramps, but!!! I start excercising and IT HELPS! What you do is walk for 3 minutes, 4 steps on your toes, 4 steps on your heels, then 4 steps on the outer of your feet and 4 steps on your feet but your toes are under your feet...ok, its hard to explain, but if you do that, you will see no leg cramps!! Also, every few hours you should circulate your feet having toes out there and then back to your leg..streching HELPS!
So, since I started to do that every day, no more leg cramps!~

Maria - Im glad that your appt went fine...I know docs can tell you many things that are too vague ...so you probably didn't get many answers...I would follow your heart, you know? and your instincts! I get worry when my baby isn't moving much but then next day she always does, so I am fine! And so should you be !

I had my glucose test done today and should hear results on Monday (if they are bad...).. Also I stopped eating so much and now weight 120 lbs for the last week...I hope to put on some more weight for the baby :) The baby needs to be at least 6 pounds to be healthy delivered.
The nurse who took my blood today told me that her sis delivered at 36 weeks and her baby was only 3 pounds!!! How can this be? She said the sister was tighny...I am pretty small to and I know my baby now weights 2 pounds but I hope that she can put much more weight on!!

Im also waiting for lab results about yeast infection..I don't think I have it though.
Dreamgirl- WOW, 45 pounds, that's crazy! Although you are carrying twins!! Oh, how exciting!

Girls, have you decorated the room already?
I think I will start in May!!! I want to pass 30 weeks to do that...or because I will have 2 weeks with no school so I can solely concentrate on the decorating!
I am thinking to do a mini baby shower sometimes in May as well....

by eternidad200, Apr 09, 2009 10:45AM
Anya- thanks for the advise I think I am going to give these stretching excercises a try. Don't worry too much about your weight, I think your baby  will weight fine.

Maria- I work 12 hours shifst in an oncolgy unit, mostly all my time is spend walking around rounding on pt, passing medications, performing procedures. Some other times I have to sit down to make docs phone calls, etc. But overall is pretty active. I like it though, my days are usually pretty busy and fast.

Girls, I feel so lucky to have you around in my life, is nice to share stories with all of you.

by ZUZ, Apr 09, 2009 06:50PM
HI All!  I feel like I missed so much not logging in for a day!  My sister dragged me out to go see Jay Leno from the Tonight Show last night.  He gave a free show to the people of Michigan.  It was fun.

Eternidad, I'm so sorry you felt that horrible pain!  I don't know if I mentioned it or not on here but last weekend I woke up in agony from my muscle tightening in my calf.  It was rock hard.  I think it was like 5am and I sat up from pain and was crying and my husband was trying to rub it out and I was yelling for him not to touch it!  I asked my doctor  about it and the sucky thing is that those pains are normal from now on.  The best thing to do is try to point your toes up toward your body to stretch the calf muscle. I'm sorry about the whole work thing.  Is there a way to at least reduce hours so that you have more time to rest? Did you tell your doctor about how much you work and how much you're standing and all of that?  I wish all of our financial situations were different.  I think life would be so much easier.

Maria, your tummy sounds like my tummy. I have good days and bad ones and I think it has to do with what I eat.  I wouldn't worry about going a few times a day once in a while as long as your kind of regular most of the time.  Maybe you could eat bananas if it gets bad.  That should help a little.  Oh wait!  Does having GD mean you cannot eat certain fruits?  Or have less of them?  I'm glad your doctor reassured you.  I know he sounds vague but its probably because your pains are pretty much normal and all part of growing so he doesn't see a need to concern you.  The less concerned and stressed you are the better!

Dreamgirl, so nice to hear from you!  You sound like you are in better spirits!  I'm so glad your dad is doing better!!  Thank God for that!!  Don 't worry about your weight gain.  You're eating for 3!  :)

Anya, how did the glucose test go?  Was the yucky orange stuff tolerable?  I'm going on Mon.  I think its a good idea to start decorating in a couple more weeks.  I bet it'll make the time fly by!  I was looking on line for bedding but all the ones I liked were so pricey!  I got overwhelmed an stopped looking.  I guess I really don't have much choice in the matter and have to start again!  ABout the baby movements, I think my baby moves whenever he or she feels like it.  I don't know if I really noticed a pattern yet.  Maybe its just me though.  If I'm really moving around all day and doing stuff, I think I don't notice as much.

Maria, we have to start paying attention to baby movements now?

by Anya1984, Apr 10, 2009 09:30AM
Zuz- I also don't notice the pattern for my baby's movements, except in the morning and in the evening, she moves whenever...:)
The stuff I had to drink was very tolerable and it wasn't orange. I was giving the fruit punch kind and it was actually like a fruit punch soda, except a lot of it and a bit sweet :)
I will know the results by next Wed the latest.

I also looked at the bedding and its way to expensive, SO, I went to walmart online and found reasonable prices for what I think will suffice. Not the most wonderful bedding but I can live with it..I don't want to spend lots of money on something that we will not use for too long!
But all the baby stuff is pretty overwhealming because it takes lots of effort and you don't know what you want/need...

My weight is kinda stuck at 119 for the last 2 weeks :( I hope everything is fine!

Unlike you ladies, my bowel movement is not frequent at all :( So I have the opposite problem that I will mention on my next visit in a week.

I can't believe you all didn't find out the sex of the baby....I wish I could be like you but now I know :) I think it will be awesome to know once the baby is born!!
Except Dreamgirl and myself, all of you don't know what you are having!!
Interesting....

I went to maternity store to buy a skirt and everything was so big on me...so I ended up buying a capri and now I have one pants and one capri..I think I m done with buying maternity though, only three months to go...

by eternidad200, Apr 10, 2009 10:02AM
Anya- is nice you don't have to buy that many maternity cloth. i ahve been lucky and being wearing some of my sister old matermity cloths, also I went to a second hand store and bought some more, but they are all  pretty wintery, so I guess I am going ot have to spend few mor bucks for the hot summer in Michiga, but again I will go to a second hand store to get them.

ZUZ- I bought my bedding online on e bay, the price was o.k, but I realy like my patterns, since I don't know the sex it was hard to find something unisex. Here is the site were you guys can look at what I bought. I did not buy the mobile or the wall decoration, just the crib bedding, cribb skirt, sheets, and blanket. Pay around 100 bucks for it on e bay.

by Anya1984, Apr 10, 2009 10:46AM
Eternidad and Zuz - I found in Walmart online for $85 :) and it is actually 10 pieces (doesn't include the skirt though..)

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10841913#ProductDetail

Eternidad, you didn't provide the website..

by Maria2707, Apr 10, 2009 10:49AM
Eternidad- Its really nice to be together and we can help each other and comfort each other. Its good that you are walking around whole day.  That way its easier for the baby to move and you will get your exercise..:) You forgot to mention the link where you bought the bedding. I will be buying everything once the baby is born. But I still want to look at the things. I will buy something in mint green and furniture would be all cherry...:)

Anya- Every one is different, if some lady delivers a 3 pound baby doesn't mean you should worry. Since your baby is already two pounds by 36 weeks its going to be more than 4.5 pounds. I was reading on internet that the baby is going to be around 2 pounds during the end of 26th week. So your's is right. When I told my doctor about my bowel movement he said that most of them get constipated during this time. Also it has got to do with what you eat too.  Do mention to your MW about your bowel movement if its not regular.

Zuz-Leg cramps or normal. So dont make quick moves while you are sleeping. My fruit limitation is two per day. I can eat any fruit. I can eat lot of vegetables though. You are right, doctors are really vague and moreover he was backed up on his appointments and he seemed to be in a hurry. My pelvic pain is still there and gets bad when I go to bed. I have to deal with it. How do you count your baby's kicks?

by Joyce49788, Apr 10, 2009 02:43PM
hello ladies... just checking in... baby is doing well aside from it is looking more like a boy than a girl...lol...will know more next month when i have another u/s but at not quite 32 weeks baby was weighing in at 4lb 11oz... so a good healthy weight right now... looks like this might end up being my biggest yet. and they are thinking about letting me have it at 10 days early instead of the 2 days early like i thought they were gonna insist on.  anyhow just checking in... will be 32 weeks tomorrow....whoo hoo. 7 weeks left

by ZUZ, Apr 11, 2009 09:48AM
eternidad, the bedding is beautiful.  Good pick!!!  I'm still having a hard time with that!  I haven't ordered the bedroom set yet either!  I wanted to see the floor sample at one of the baby stores but I don't know when they're getting it in!  I think we're just going to go ahead and order it. We decided to wait until we get our income tax check!  haha!  Its very cool that you can fit all those pieces in the babys room.  I'm limited to crib, dresser, armoire.  I actually have to double check the sizes of everything to make sure!

Anya, the bedding is beautiful! I can't tell you how hard it is not knowing!  I seen so many beautiful little girl sets and I've had to pass them up!  I totally have to get gender neutral ones.

Maria, That's good that you can still have fruits.  Do you have to take any medicine or do they just have you alter your diet?  Pelvic pain is the baby right?  Does it help at all to take a warm shower before bed?  I've been having a hard time sleeping.  Baby's kicks actually hurt sometimes and scare me awake!  I still love it.  :)  I don't count the kicks.  I didn't even know we had to start.  I know the baby kicks after I eat, sometimes its a lot sometimes its just a few minutes.  I noticed that there are more kicks after i eat someting sweet or spicy.  It's kinda funny.  I'm going to the doctor on Mon so I'll ask her about that.  I'm meeting one of the other doctors in the office then.  I've talked to her before and she seems great so I'm looking forward to meeting her.

Joyce, how exciting!  Congrats on the 32 week mark! I Are you feeling well?  can't wait to get there!!!!

Seas27, hello!  Congrats!  :)

by Joyce49788, Apr 11, 2009 09:59AM
ZUZ... amazingly i am feeling pretty good... because of issues with the nerves in my leg and such i can not sit, stand or walk for long without the tops of my legs going numb or my back, legs, hips and belly hurting REALLY bad. but other than that i think things are going great. went to doc appt wednesday and baby is measuring just short of 5lbs and they said i have LOTS of amniotic fluid. they also informed me that it looks like i am having a boy instead of the girl they told me i was having back in feb.... i am going in for another u/s in May and so hopefully they can check again to be sure that it is whatever sex that it is... i hate not knowing for sure. i have all of this girl stuff and now they are saying it is a boy... wtf. anyhow i will be ok with whatever it is, as long as he or she is healthy. good thing my bedding is on the neutral side even though it is pastels...lol (blue, pink, purple, yellow and teal)....anyhow i guess if i have to bring a HIM home in a pink carseat then that is what i will have to do... lmao. this is the first time i have EVER had a problem with a doc or tech telling me differant things.. usually if they say it is a girl... it is a GIRL.. lmao oh well i am trying to not stress too much over it.

hope everyone continues to do well and that the time just flies by for you, i know it has for me.....

by eternidad200, Apr 11, 2009 12:45PM
Joyce- sorry you have to deal with the little issue of boy vs  girl. Is hard, but sometimes u/s cannot predict totally the baby gender, but look at it in this way, either one your baby is going to be beautiful and healthy.

Zuz- I know is hard to find gender neutral bedding, the stores are filled with either girls or boys stuff, is hard to find gender neutral. I went to e bay and they have good deals at times.

Seas- welcome to our little family group. Hope you enjoy us.

by Anya1984, Apr 11, 2009 02:39PM
Hello Girls!
I need to inform you that it is time to create a new thread!
I will call it 26 weeks and up but
Seas, please stay in our thread! We share wonderful stories and not so wonderful worries and it is fun here :)

by Seas27, Apr 13, 2009 11:45AM
Thanks for the welcomes!! We are having our second boy! I was a little disapointed at first, being this is our last baby and I really wanted a girl, but boys are great and I got over it really fast lol. Everythng is going good over here for me. Just tired and want to eat everything lol, but other then that:)
Joyce- I don't know what I would do if they did that to me lol. That's not nice at all. But liek you said as long as its healthy. Gees
I hope you all had an awesome easter! My ds is so sick, he stayed  on the couch all day and didn't even play with his new stuff or eat candy. That's when you know it's bad lol. His fever spiked at 103, and is now down to 101.5. He just has a runny nose, and no energy. Poor guy, I have no idea what is wrong.

by ZUZ, Apr 13, 2009 02:01PM
Joyce, totally not woth stressing over.  It doesn't matter what baby is as long as he/she is good and healthy!  :)

I went to the doc today for my glucose test.  Yuck!  I should know something in a day or two.  My doctor said I might have a bladder infection so she she's sending a sample out to make sure. I had a high white blood cell count in my urine sample today.  I dont want to go on antibiotics.   :(

Seas, I'm sorry about your son!  It's so sad little muchkins are sick.  They're so helpless.  Poor thing.  I hope he feels better soon.
