6 weeks after abortion

by x101x, Jul 09, 2008 11:22PM
its been six weeks after the abortion i had
everythings been pretty good
i got my period back  3-4 weeks like
i should have i havent had any bleeding since then
but i'm kinda sore in my body a lil
my left leg and off and on my stomach feels a lil funny
i havent notice things like this since i first got my abortion
and i think its probly cause of
me being sexually active again i've been active twice
and both times it been protected
could it be that my body isnt really healed up enough even though its been 6 weeks
since i've had the abortion?

Not a nice post - when others are worried and wanting babies on here !!!

by leighanne143, Jul 10, 2008 07:00AM
yes it could be since your body is not completly healed.  did you doctor tell you when you could have sex again.  then since this is a pregnancy forum and we all here are either pregnant or trying, have you gotten yourself on birth control so you will  not need another abortion in the future?  if not please do so before continuing having sex.

It is possible your body has yet to re-adjust. However, there can be complications with ANY surgical procedure. If you are feeling discomfort, I would recommend making a doctor's appointment to find out what's going on with your body. In the meantime, I would refrain from sex just until you get the ok from your physician! Good luck and feel better soon!

And leighanne, she said she had been sexually active twice AND used protection. =)

okay laura, but birth control plus condoms work a lot better.  i was not being mean and did not need you to snap back at me for no reason.

I am sorry if you took it that way. It wasn't my intention. I just wasn't sure if you saw that her post said she had used protection. I even put a smiley...I wasn't snapping. Again, sorry you took it that way..

hi laura, no i definately seen her post, just in the future so women do not chew her up for posting about abortion again, i always try to push birth control too.  it is just a much more effective thing to use birth control and condoms.  sorry i took offense to your psot, it might just be too early in the am for me or my pregnancy hormones could be kicking in full effect.  my fiance better watch out for me today them:)

ugh i hate posts like this on the pregnancy forum..with all the women TRYING to conceive

im guessing it is probably from not waiting the recommended amount of time. i had to have a d&c because of a misscarriage and they said to wait 6 weeks before having sex

and this was your 2ND abortion? i recommend some sort of birth control, the pill, iud, something so that way you dont have to do this again

by carissarae, Jul 10, 2008 11:52AM
oh sorry my mistake i thought it said since i got my first abortion, not since i first got my abortion. i apologize, but still think BC good idea!!

6 weeks after an abortion you should be healed up.

And a heads-up to members, the following is in the rules for using forums, found under Terms of Use at bottom of screen:

You cannot: "Post material that is unlawful, obscene, derogatory, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous, hateful, or embarrassing to any other person or entity as determined by MedHelp in its sole discretion."

Perhaps this poster did not know where else to post this question and it was, in an off-handed way, about a pregnancy she had had. This is a pregnancy forum and that does and will include abortion topics. While I do not agree with abortion, I am in no place to judge her for her actions and I will answer her questions, and others, to the best of my ability.

Not pointing fingers but I've been PMed because people are upset about this thread. So I just wanted to clear the air. If you find a similar post like this in the future, and it upsets you, just don't respond.

i know there are women on here who really want babies and women who are allready pregnant but that doesnt mean someone who had an abortion shouldnt be able to post a question..No one has a right to judge..sometimes there are circumstances where abortion happens..i for one have had 1 its hurts and weighs heavy on your mind after and support is one thing that most women who been through this needs..i know for one i wanted to die after its very psychological..but to answer her question it can take up to 6 weeks but if it last more then 8 weeks i would seek medical attention..i know after mines i was very sore but healed up eventually
