ACNE?

Has anyone ever had acne during pregnancy?  I have it soo bad, it looks like I am back in early highschool!  I remember when I was pregnant with my first child 61/2 yrs ago my face got like that.  I went to the doctor not realizing that I was pregnant.  She gave me an antibiotic and then like 2 weeks later I ended up  taking a test and BINGO! BFP!  Then it dawned on me.  haha.  And with my second pregnancy I was beautiful! But now since I am getting it  I am wondering if its possible I am preggers!!!  I have had it for like 2 weeks now.

You are not alone. I am pregnant with my 3rd child and each time I had the unfortunate luck of having acne. It got worse breastfeeding. THis after having beauiful skin before my 1st child and in between pregnancies, trying to calm my skin down and gett rid of the acne. So perhaps you are pregnant. I am having a boy (third one) and seem to think that makes me have acne, as most of my friends who had girls had glowing skin. I get chemical peels (they are totally safe) on my face just to try to clear up my face a bit. Acne doesn't help the self-esteem, getting bigger, and zit-faced, but it's all worth it in the end. Thanks for the in-put! I was the same way...my son made me soo ugly and my daughter made me beautiful!  Chemical peels..are those pricey?  I hope I am preggers because today I ate some sausage with a banana....lol interesting combo.

I dont know if its just me but my acne from what I think is pregnancy is not just little bumps with **** in them they are like really big knots under the skin..the kind that hurt and sometimes itch but are almost impossible to pop...anyone else?

Yeah I have those too!  I hate those! They are like boils. And there is a difference I think between PMS acne and PREGNANCY acne...LIKE THIS **** I am getting. My whole flipping chin is red and ittitated and has been for awhile now!  Up and down the sides of my face. Its embarrassing.

I am 8 weeks 4 days and I never had acne in high school but since ive been preggo it has been terriable. I have heard after the first trimester it does go away. I hope.

I have been having horrible breakouts. I've always had pretty good skin and if I ever had any acne, it would clear up quickly if I washed my face twice a day with a special soap. During this pregnancy, no matter what I do, I can't get them to go away. I hate it!

You said you got chemical peels while pregnant. What kind of peels are safe to use during pregnancy? I have been reading that they are not safe to get and I'm ttc right now and getting chemical peels, so I'm worried they may affect the baby if we do concieve (conceive).

I have heard of this. I thought I could have gotten pregnant a little over a week ago, and a day later my face broke out. I normally don't have acne. It went away the next day though and has not returned. That was it. It was not really a big deal. Then my boyfriend's face broke out the next day. Maybe the weather? haha. I don't know. But I guess if your face is really bad and it does not go away, it could be that. But I would not assume a break out to mean you're pregnant. I think mine was stress from thinking I could have gotten pregnant, thanksgiving, and my boyfriend leaving for work-term from school AGAIN. It went away though just by washing with some cleanser. So yeah, I guess if it is nothing like you've had before, it could be that. But I've never been pregnant (and hope I'm not now!) so I don't know. Good luck.
