I'm in the same boat.

How do you know you ovulated Thursday?

If you did ovulate Thursday you needed to be BDing Wednesday to Saturday. After ovulation egg last 24 hours. (Some say 48 but I have read that it starts to deteriorate after 36 hours and this is when most abnormalities happen so I use 24 hours as a guide) Either way I still BD either side of ovulation day.
I also prop my bum up on pillows to make my abdomen slope down wards to get them as high up as possible where the conditions are better for spermie survival.

What sort of advice did you need??

I also prop my butt up on pillows. I BD wednesday thru saturday. I don't know, I've been trying for 4 months now. I guess I'm getting a little anxious and frustrated. I have noone to talk to about this except for my boyfriend.

Hi Tookies01,

I only came off Pill Mid March - i have had my withdrawal bleed (in march/early april) & am currently on day 4 of cycle (Still on AF - hopefully last day).

I did try last month after coming off the pill but figured that it was maybe too early.

This month is gonna be the month for me to get real 'serious' and do everything i have to.

I have a current online Ovulation Predictor, will be getting an ovulation test to determine when i am most fertile, and will be proping bum up on pillow when im am fertile/ovulating.

Its all about the waiting game in the end. If it happens it happens, if not, try again....

Good Luck......

I know exactly how you feel. I think after avoiding pregnancy so long I though it was gonna happen within two months. I even tried to plan my maternity leave around school (big mistake). I'm starting to think everyone can get pregnant except me!! I think it's perfectly normal for us to feel like this we just need to chill out (although I hate it if people utter those words....grrrr)
My Mum says we're in an 'I want it now' era and when she was younger you didn't even go to Doc unless you missed three periods blah blah blah....

Well I'm off to Doc in 30 minutes and I'm going to request that I get tested for hypothyroidism. I doubt I have it but my sister has been TTC for three years and she only found out she had it just before she started. She says she doubts I be able to work so hard if I did but I need to eliminate another cause of worry!!

It would help if I had actually had Aprils AF but it never came.....This site is ecellent though, you get TTC buddies with the same cycle and everything (like  us ) and no one gives you grief about being too inquisitive or worried because they know it's not helpful.

My OPK says I ovulated Saturday so make sure you're there to test in a couple of weeks time. Fertility friend suggested May15th to test

I went off the pill around the time you did, and I'm finding that it doesn't happen automatically.  I feel like my cycle is finally getting more regulated.  Once that happens, things will usually fall into place.  It can take a while for our bodies to regulate after taking hormones for years.

there is no certain time frame to getting pregnant after the pill, heck some people get pregnant on the pill! i did, except it ended in miscarriage a few years ago.  it can take anywhere up to 6 months or longer to get your cycles regulated after coming off the pill, even then its still a guessing game!! i was off the pill for 2 years before i got pregnant and we used no form of birth control. but yes bd like heck around ovulation time, has your period been normal?

I was on the pill for three years, and it took me three months of it being ineffective for me to get pregnant,. I say ineffective because I was on it but ... 1 month - antibiotics (wipes out b/c from your system) 2 month - REALLY sick all month (doubt the pill ever stayed in my system) and 3 month PREGNANT!

It definitely takes time for the birth control pills to totally leave your system.

i got pregnant first month off BC with dd, this time around I finally had to take Vit B6 to regulate my cycle before I had a viable pregnancy.  If you are not having a reg. AF, I suggest you research Vit B6 to see if it could also help you!
Good Luck!

Everyone is different.  If its only been a few months then dont start stressing now.  It took me 4 years off birthcontrol to finally conceive.  I had a son in 2004 and starting trying for another since he was a year and a half.  I had a miscarriage two months ago at 5 weeks preg.  It is a very long road and causes a lot of stress but dont assume something is automatically wrong.

Thanks ladies. I don't feel like I'm the only one now. My periods are actually getting almost regular. Last month it was 35 days instead of 40 - 45 days. I feel better.
