Acne after coming off the pill

Hello ladies....I've been off the pill for a year now and just the past few months I have been getting acne around my O time worse than ever before!! I always noticed a zit here and there before but now I have many tiny bumps that I know will eventually conjure up and I get it on my chest really bad too. Which is embarrassing since I have always been known to have very clear and smooth skin!!
Any ideas on what I can do do prevent this or is it a hopeless cause? I feel like I'm saying to the world "look at me...I'm off my birth control!" I hate it!
