Am i protected from being pregnant?

by Rach2986, Apr 17, 2009 10:33AM
I come off the Microgynon pill 3 months ago because i was bleeding on it. The doctor told me to go back on it again so i took it when i got my period last Tuesday & stopped bleeding on Friday. On Saturday night I had unprotected sex & forgot to take the pill Sunday, I then had unprotected sex again Sunday night. I took the pill Monday but forgot again Tuesday & wednesday. I start to bleed Thursday morning but took the pill that day. Am I still protected from getting pregnant? I'm still bleeding now & i would say its a period becuase its red bleeding. Im not sure what to do but i havent taken the pill 2day, should i?

You are definitly not protected. Even on the pill and taken everyday,  there is never a 100% chance that you won't get pregnant. And since you just started back on the pill, there is even greater risk. I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear, but just know there is a HUGE risk. I'm not sure about taking the pill today though. I guess it's sort of up to you. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I hope it makes since.

no. lots of women bleed in pregnancy. you can get caught out on the pill when you're using it correctly, the chances only increase when you're not. however, even if you were having totally unprotected sex, your chances of conceiving in any given cycle are just 25%. if you do not want to get pregnant, use contraception properly and preferably more than 1 form of contraception.
