I like Raegan but my husband hates it...I also like Kennedy...but hubby hates it...they are unusual...

by JoyRenee, Aug 09, 2008 12:46PM
I don't know what you mean by unusual--- like Starfire? Or do you mean unique, in the sense that not every other child will share her name in school?

I like the names:

Chloe
Lyric
Melody
Evangeline
Muse
Sage

Hope that starts to give you an idea. I find that a lot of herbs are cool names (Paprika, anyone?)

I know a little baby girl named Adali (add-uh-lie). I've never heard her name anywhere else!

by Wendy80, Aug 09, 2008 05:01PM
McKenzie really can be either a boy or a girls name (that's my niece's name).  And I love Chloe (the only reason we wouldn't use it is b/c I had a cat named Chloe once... it would just be too weird).  And reading what JoyRenee put (Adali) made me think of a girl I knew in college whose name was Adelia...not sure how to spell out the pronunciation for that one, but this is my best guess (ah-deal-ya)... but we always called her Addie.  Sorry that's all I've got... I love seeing what other people come up with, but I'm afraid I'm not too great at thinking of "unique" names myself.

by msgorgeous, Aug 09, 2008 05:38PM

The lady that does my hair, her daughters names are Staysha Dene, and Zaylee (i cant remember the middle name)  I really love those names.  I think they are really cute.  Good luck.

by amyvr, Aug 09, 2008 09:11PM
we're going to name our daughter Addison. Another option was going to be Ashlyn or Kennedy. Addison is very popular where I live now, but no one had ever heard it used where I am originally from. I think it depends on where you live whether these names are going to be unique or not.

by shadowserpent, Aug 09, 2008 09:46PM

by jesslee83, Aug 12, 2008 12:01PM
ok, when i pulled out of our complex the other night to go get dinner, i saw one that was not really a person's name, but thought it would be really neat for a girl....

Kennedyne-(kene-dine)(kene-dean)

i've NEVER seen or heard of it before....and guess where i saw it? you know those big yellow ties that semi's use to secure box loads? lol, that's the name of the company who makes the ties ;)

sad, huh? but i thought it was VERY odd, and i LOVED it.....

by mim181, Aug 12, 2008 12:01PM
I was dead set on McKenna if we have a girl, but I recently read a childrens folktale book called Rainbabies and the name Rainah is starting to grow on me.  It is a wonderful story about a couple waiting years to have a baby.

I named my daughter Aurora, its latin for dawn.  Whilst it is an unusual name in Australia it is quite common in Europe.  Not being able to find a girl's name may mean something.  When I was pregnant with my girl I could not find one boy's name I liked, and when I was pregant with my son I could not find one girl's name a liked.  I believe I just cycled the names past them and they chose them.

by baby_edgar, Sep 10, 2008 02:44AM
i named my daughter kailee  sue (kay lee) i have only heard one other person with that name

by Riot_Queen, Sep 10, 2008 02:52AM
My fiance n I also went for uncommon and unique names.

So our lil girl due in a few weeks will be Ivy Lynn.
And if she was a boy, she would have been Aiden Lee.

But we had a whole list of different girl names we liked and different names we put together but didn't like as much as  the other... so I guess I'll list them fer yah.
=]

Cadence Marie
Melonie Jade
Morgan Sage
Jooniper Leigh
Jooniper Lynn

Then we also had a buncha names that we picked, but didn't put together...

Rain
October [[my mother actually suggested that one- but I was like, "Well what if she
doesn't make it to October 2nd... then she'll be a late September baby named
October, and that's kinda weird. lol]]
Juno
Jailynn
Skye
Rosalynn
Jasmine
Korie
Julia
Jillian
Ariellah

That's all I can think of right now. lol

They have LOADS of sites online that you can look around for baby names for boys, girls, and also unisex names.
They have sites that you can browse names by nationality like Italian names, Irish names, African names... anything you could think of.
They also have sites that have names that go best with eachother and already put together to give you ideas.

Google.com is my best friend lol.
That's how Josh n I were able to go with Ivy Lynn. lol
