BDing

by takari, Dec 04, 2007 04:39PM
Hi,
Can any one help me in figuring out. My LMP was Nov 15th. Me and DH were BDing until CD 18.
I do have cycles around 26,28 or sometimes 30. I am sure I O'd until CD 18. Is that enough to get pregnant?
And one more question: What happened if we BD in the 3rd week like CD 20 and after?
Will there be any bad effect if already baby forming started inside?

Having sex will not have any effect on a developing baby. Sex is safe during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you otherwise (for reasons such as having a high risk pregnancy). Anyway, having sex during the 3rd week will not matter if you've already ovulated. The egg lives for about 24-48 hours and sperm lives in the vagina for up to three days. So if you had sex a couple days before or after or during ovulation, you've covered your bases. Now just let God take over.

You can't just guess when you ovulate. You need to know. One way is to check cervical mucous (CM). Every single time you go to the bathroom, check the toilet tissue for CM. You may have CM that is cloudy, yellow, sticky, etc. That means your cervix is beginning to soften. The cervix is really tight and impenetrable to sperm during your infertile days.

When the CM becomes clear (like raw eggs whites) and stretches to an inch or more, you're fertile or ovulating. THAT is when you want to have sex.

So if you didn't end up getting pregnant this month, try that next month and see what happens. It might take up to 6 months, but I can tell you I got pregnant with one shot, by having sex only once, using this method. Not everyone is so lucky, but I thought I'd let you know it worked for me. My daughter is now 8 months old.

You can take a pregnancy test the day you miss your period, or two weeks after you believe you ovulated. If it is negative, retest in three days unless AF comes. GOOD LUCK!!! Much baby dust!!! Check out www.pregnancyweekly.com and join for free!!!

Thanks for your reply. I agree that you are lucky.
I have been checking the CM and had sex when it was clear. I thought that is the ovuation time.
But did not work out for the last 2 months. This is the 3rd month I tried. I will see what will happen.
Thanks for your encouraging words.

Yeah, sometimes it just takes some time. You're doing your part. But you have to take in account DH's sperm, too. Don't have sex every single day. Have sex every other day so you do not deplete the sperm supply (it takes time for him to build up more sperm after intercourse).

I really hope something happens for you this month!!!

Can we know if the sperm supply is less or something like that? Is there a way to find it by our own?
I see some white mucus coming from the vagina in the morning when I had the sex in the night.
Is it normal? I thought the sperm is coming out that is the reason I didnot get preg last 2 months even we had sex when I ovulated.
Thanks for your time and answers

Also today I am on CD 20 and my breasts are sore if I touch. When the breasts become sore on which day?

Every woman has pregnancy symptoms at different times. Some women get symptoms shortly after conception, and others start developing symptoms when they miss their period. So your tender breasts could be either pregnancy related or premenstrual.

Also, that white mucous is not sperm. It is mucous from another organ. I can't remember which one but I think it is spleen. I'll have to go look that up.

I don't think you can test his sperm count. And your doc won't refer you to a fertility specialist unless you've been trying for a year. I feel hopeful for you though.
