Bipolar Mum

Hi
I am  30 year old female with Bipolar Type 1 and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. I am stable and have a Mother-baby Phsychiatrist and an Obsterician to consult with. So I am prepared medically! I also have mild Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

My husband and I have been trying for 2 months (early days), but my cycle is very unpredictable so I am having difficulty with predicting ouvulation. I did the urine ovulation tests last month - but they didn't seem to detect a peak in LH.

I am very anxious already and am wondering of other mums or mum-to-be that have bipolar/ anxiety/ depression etc and how you are coping. I am laying in bed at night and thinking that I will never be a mum - my OCD tells me that I don't deserve pregnancy...silly I know. I cried when I got my period this morning!

Anyone feel like this?

i am in a similar situation to you however i have very minor bipolar.  leans to the depressive side.  i already have a 9 year old and did find it difficult coping with post natal issues.  im glad you have a good support sytem for yourself.  i had nothing except myself.  made it through though.  i wish you the best of luck and if you would like to chat more dont be afraid to send me a message.
