Brown Discharge at 5 &1/2 weeks pregnant

by vanessa77, Feb 06, 2008 01:03PM
Hello,
I am currently 5 & 1/2 weeks pregnant, and am having little amounts of brown stick discharge. I had an ultrasound on Friday and although they could not find a fetal pole, they found a yolk sack, and said that everything looked great so far. My hormone levels were doubling last week as they should have been. I am curious as to if I am misscarying or not? my breasts will also be sore one day and not hurt the next. I had a miscarriage last July, and I know that losing my breast tenderness, and brown spotting were present, however they could not find the baby on the ultrasound then, and my blood levels never went past 1000. Can someone plese give me advice??

I have had kinda the same thing happen but everything was ok at first. I went for u/s on the 28th and there was no heartbeat. They said it was a matter of time before I pass it or I will need a d & c. Good luck to you. I understand what you are going through

I had the same thing happen to me when i was 4.5 weeks along. the brown discharge was only a couple times a day and only when i wiped. i had slight cramping though and a very sore back. it ended in miscarriage. now i am pregnany again and had the brown discharge once a few days ago. i have back pain but no cramping. im in the process of having my hcg levels checked. i should find out friday if there doubling. i know that brown spotting does not always mean a miscarriage. if you start having cramps or a really dull back ache then maybe you should go to the ER. Good luck. i know how scary it is. im in the same boat, but im just 4 weeks along.

I have been told the brown discharge can be from mc but it can also be from intercourse or old blood from before. Just try to relax and dont stress too much. You could just be spotting, which can be perfectly normal. Ill kee you in my prayers though. Good luck to you!

Well no sign of brown discharge as of yet for today, but I noticed my breasts are not as sore. However, they are still full and heavy. I am 6 weeks and 1 day. I just hope I am not going to misscarry! I have noticed that they get sore off and on. Any input?
