Brown GRITTY spotting 5 weeks pregnant

I am REALLY concerned this may be signs of an impending miscarriage??????my husband and I have previously had a miscarriage at the end of my 9 th week in aug. 2008. We just found out this past Thursday that im pregnant again. I am scared about this one ending in miscarriage as well!?!?! before my positive pregnancy test i was lightly spotting off and on. On saturday ( two days after positive pregnancy test which were 5 of them different brands..lol.) I had gone #2 and saw some maroon and brown on the toiletpaper, but not bright red or clots. Nothing in the toilet. After that I havent had it since......it is now two days later and have been lightly spotting tan ever since. I woke up this morning and went #2 as well and noticed brown GRITTY on the toilet paper and a little in the toilet. I had this like in 6th week of pregnancy last time???? I am REALLY scared this may be a miscarriage!?!?! please any advice would be grealty appreciated!!!

call your doctor and see if they can get you in to get checked....you could also go the er and have them check it out....best of luck to you

Brown blood is old blood and can be caused by a number of things (sex, irritation, etc.) - bright red blood would be cause for concern.  But yes, good idea to call your OBGYN to see what they want you to do.  Please keep us updated.

Well went in for my appointment today they did some blood cultures and said my hcg levels were 750 they are going to take them every 48 hours for the rest of the week to make sure they are doubling. Since i have had a miscarriage i am consider "high risk," They said spotting could deff. implination, but cant really say until they see if my hcg levels are rising not falling. Really really hoping they are doubling!!!! Once they reach 2,000 then they can do an u/s and see if everything is progressing normally. So emotional I just want a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. I dont wanna go through another miscarriage or d&c again! Thank you for your responds.

so i had blood work done yesterday my numbers went up beautifully she said form 750 on monday to 1300 on wednesday. Im still concerned about the cramping, low back aches, and gritty brown spotting?!?!?! I dont notice much on my pantyliner more so when i pee or go #2. Really hoping this all works out!!!
