Brown Spotting During Pregnancy (Please Help)

Brown Spotting During Pregnancy (Please Help)

So before I begin, I just want to explain the whole situation. My cycle is 42 days long, my LMP was 10/01/2007; I know for a fact that I ovulated on 10/23/2007 because of positive OPK and tracking my BBT. At 15 DPO I got a positive pregnancy test; which was last Wednesday the 7th of November. I took 2 tests that day and both were positive. Throughout last week, I took 3 other tests (I was just too excited to believe it) and all were positive for a total of 5 BFP!!! Anyway, my period would have been due today and here is where my problem begins. Last night I started to notice some faint brown spotting and only when I wiped. I also noticed an increase in the cramping that I had been having. I put a pad on and the pad stayed completely clean all through last night and again this morning up until now. Everytime I go to the bathroom I have this faint brown spotting and again ONLY when I wipe. I still feel pregnant, my boobs kill, I am nauseous and exhausted and achy. I called the doctor on call at my OB office last night and when he called me he said that basically it could go either way at this point. He explained that many women spot and that's all it is but it can sometimes develop to more bleeding and that could be bad. He suggested I come in this week and they could run the beta series. I called the office today to schedule and they are closed for Veteran's Day. Anyway, my question is, has anyone ever had any brown spotting when they wiped right around the time they would have missed their period? I know it is not implantation bleeding as I am 3 weeks past ovulation and knew I was pregnant almost a week ago. So, does this seem normal? I don't know what could cause the spotting and it just seems so weird that it occurred right when my missed period would be due. Anyway, I am very nervous and really want my baby to be okay. Any info at all would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had brown spotting and so did my friend and we both freaked out. When I went to my doctor and old him he said the its just old blood. And my friends doctor told her the same. Just relax and think positive. Some people can actually have a period while being pregnant. I hope everything goes good just relax and call your doctor tomorrow. Good Luck!!

Brown blood is old blood and not something to really be worried about. If the bleeding is bright red or pink that means that its new and that something might be going on. If you are worried contact your doctor tomorrow and tell him about the bleeding and see if he wants you to come in to have an ultrasound. Best of luck keep us informed.

I am almost 6 weeks and found a one week and three days ago that I was pregnant.  I have had brown spotting almost every day since then and my doc says it's normal.  I also had spotting the first three months in my first pregnancy.  I hope this helps.

Thank you all for the information you have provided me. I really appreciate it. I spoke with the doc on call Sunday night and he said to schedule the Beta Series. The spotting has actually completely stopped and I have had clean pads each day I have used them. I called the doctor today and am scheduled to go in tomorrow morning and Friday morning for the Beta. I feel fine, no terrible cramping. Mainly I just feel pregnant, honestly. Extremely nauseous, tired, and achy. And each time I went to the bathroom today there was nothing on the paper when I wiped so I am taking that as a good sign. I have also read about the old blood and that's what I am thinking it was. I will go in for the tests but I have a feeling everything is going to be just fine. Again thank you and I will let you know Monday when I have my results.
