Can I still be pregnant after taking mifepristone?

Can I still be pregnant after taking mifepristone?

I am 39 and 7 weeks pregnant.  My partner does not want this baby and has put incredible pressure on me to abort to the point of threatening me. I took mifepristone 5 days ago and started bleeding heavy 24 hours later...I did not take the follow up misoprostol pills as I started having second thoughts about aborting when I bled. For about 6 hours i had severe cramping where I passed large blood clots, the bleeding and blood clots lasted for two days.  5 days later I am still bleeding,  lighter though!  My breast are still tender although not as much and a hcg blood test came back as high but didn't say the count.  Could I still be pregnant? does hcg stay high and show up positive 5 days after miscarriage and if my baby is still alive will it be deformed after mifepristone.  I am so worried, has anyone gone through this before?

I think really only a doctor can tell you and you should follow up with one. I've heard that if the "pill aboortion" doesn't work they highly suggest a DNC due to the baby not being as likely to be healthy. Also sounds like you passed what you need too. I've had 3 miscarriages and I bled for about a week and you can definatly tell your passing stuff rather than just bleeding and you will have heavy cramps from it but I suggest going to a doctor.

It's highly doubtful the pregnancy will be viable after this point. You need an ultrasound to see what's going on, and you might also need a D&C if there's any remaining tissue. I would definitely rethink the relationship you're in, and if this is someone you want to be with. Nobody that's worth a damn or cares about you would make you choose something like that.
