I was sick with a cold and bronchitis and had been taking a Z-Pack.  I am on birth control and while taking Z-Pack I had sex.  I was wondering if there was any chances that you can get pregnant while being on birth control and taking that kind of medicine?  Thanks for your help!

The answer is yes, Antibiotics are a leading cause of birthcontrol not working. If you do get pregnant on birthcontrol, the first question asked is where you on any antibiotics. I am not 100% sure why antibiotics effect Birthcontrol, but I do know for sure they decrease the effectiveness of your birthcontrol. So if you are not looking to get pregnant i would be careful this month

That is a very interesting question. I got pregnant with my first at a young age and I had been on birth control for 4 years and got sick with bronchitis and took a z pack and six weeks later I ended up pregnant! I hope this helps! Let us know how you are doing!

yes bc as stated above, z-pac is an antibiotic and when taking them while on birthcontrol, and for some reason when on antibiotics and birth control the antibiotics effect the birthcotrol and don't work i don't if this makes sense or not but i don't know how to put into words for say lol
