As some of you know my partner and i have been ttc for the past 21months with no success, he has had a sperm analysis done and has been asked to go back to give a second sample which he will be doing 2 weeks today. However, every month we bd we do it everyday from CD12 to CD18 we never miss a day. If we only did it CD14 and CD16 (as far as i know i ovulate CD16) would there still be a chance i could conceive and would this be enough time for his sperm count to go back up?
We're not sure he has a problem but he's adamant he has because of the second test, all help is appreciated!!
If you bd every other day it will give his sperm a chance to rebuild if his sperm count is low. Try maybe doing it CD12, CD14, and CD16. That may be your best bet for now. I wish you the best and hope you get that bfp soon enough! You've been trying for so long, but don't give up!
I've also read that every other day from the time that your period is over through cycle day 20 (at least) will give you the best chances. Worked for me twice now =0) (DS and this pg, DD was a surprise!) Best of Luck to you and LOTS of baby dust!!
You never know! It could happen. It took my mom 25 months to conceive my sister. She was seeing a specialist for those 2 years and they realized it was my dad who had the low sperm count. (they had reversed a vascetomy after 12 years) and they were told that if it didn't happen by month 24, it most likely wouldn't happen. Wouldn't you know, that very next month, month 25, they didn't see the specialist, and it happened! So don't lose hope. =)
For a man who doesn't have a fertility problem they can BD everyday and it's fine. But if your husband has some issues with his sperm (including low count) then going every other day is perfectly acceptable!
P.S. I'd broaden your fertile window a bit, too, to leave room "just in case" you ovulate early or late. Start BDing on CD12 and don't stop until CD22.
thanks Joy i'm hoping we will bed tonight or tomorrow i'm ovulating CD 16 which will be saturday so hopefully things will be okay over the weekend, i don't think he has a problem but so scared there might be
