Can running a high fever in the first few weeks of pregnancy hurt the baby?

I had my iud removed about 4 weeks ago, My husband and I are ttc and I think I know when I ovulated and had sex several times before and during. that was a little over a week ago. I think it is too early to take a pregnancy test, but for the past 3 days i have come down with sever bronchitis and  slight pneumonia, because of this i have spiked a fever of 103 twice taken tylenol,  but it has taken several hours for it to come down both times and is still a slight fever even with tylenol. I know that you are not supposed to go in hot tubs or tanning because your not supposed to raise your body temperature for more than a few minutes, but I was wondering what can happen to the baby and what complications it can cause?

Im not sure what the complications are to a baby that earelt in pregnancy. I know in general, if your temp is above 100.4, you should consult your doctor or go the ER. its not good if the baby's temp raises 102 degrees and over. so lets say if your temp is 100, your babies temp is going to be 1 or two degrees higher. You should talk to your doc or go to the ER and tell them you are sick and have a high temp and theres a chance you may be pregnant. The ER can probably confirm if they see anything via ultrasound and try to get you better for you and your baby. Good luck!

If you concieved a little over a week ago, an ultrasound wont show anything yet.. a pregnancy test Maaay be positive, but it sounds like its still pretty early so might not show positive yet.. As far as the fever goes.. we concieved naturally (after years of trying and fertilty treatments) and then during the tww i had influenza B, with high fevers - we are 32 weeks with a healthy baby now!  : )  i have heard a lot of people say the same thing. I woudl just take tylenol to keep the fever down and avoid motrin(ibuprofen etc)/ GOOD LUCK!

Thanks so much for the info, I'm am still a little nervous, but it is reassuring to hear that fever does'nt neccesarily hurt the pregnancy.
