Can you Dye hair when Pregnant ?

I promised my friend weeks ago that I would dye her hair today...and I just found out I'm Pregnant yesterday...and I just don't know if that's okay?? I know some people get their hair highlighted when Pregnant..but I'll be mixing it and applying for 30 minutes and the smell is really bad...does anyone know if this is okay? I don't want to tell her or anyone that I'm Pregnant for a long while..so I dunno what to do!

alot of my friends that were hair stylists were preggo and worked up until there due date.. dying hair.. etc..

I am 28 weeks and still have been getting my hair highlighted this whole pregnancy

as long as your not in a small area, with no windows.. i think you will be ok

I agree! My SIL and I both do hair and as long as you are not sticking your face in the color you should be Ok......

just make sure your getting air open the windows a fan wouldnt hurt either..you can dye a person's hair but i wouldnt reccomend doing yours until the 2nd trimester..i permed my hair in my 2nd trimester and it did not work at all

oh thank god! i wanted to lighten my hair, and i've been worried about posting lol, in case someone thought *I* was being retarded, but i'm so glad someone posted so i can get an answer! i was going to dye it last night, but i was like "if i spend themoney, and it's not healthy..."

naw, don't feel like an idiot....just b/c that's how i would have felt, doesnt mean it applies to you! i always ask retarded questions, esp of late, so i figured if i asked it, i'd get bombed haha.....

but i'm buying dye tonight! i noticed i have ALOT of gray hair, and if i was older, it'd be ok, but i'm 25, and it's just not, at least to me it isn't!!!
