Can't sleep!!

Can't sleep!!

Hi all,

I am 5 weeks, give or take and am really struggling to sleep, I am exhausted halfway through the day, and even staying up a little later doesn't help me to sleep thorugh the night, I wake up at least 5 or 6 times and get up every moningaround 6/6.30 regardless of what time I go to bed, I have to go bavk to work soon as a kindergarten teacher and if I don;t sort myself out, my kids at work are going to suffer. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

I had the same problem my entire forst trimester. My Dr. said I could take Tylenol PM< so I did and it helped quite a bit. Good luck!

Sorry you're having trouble sleeping; I had horrible insomnia my first trimester, from about week 8-14. I just could NOT stay asleep, no matter what I did. I would sleep for like an hour, be up for 2, sleep for one..... But it did get better, and I slept wonderfully for the majority of my 2nd trimester. I hate to be a downer, but you may face similar problems in your 3rd trimester as it becomes incredible uncomfortable to sleep and the bladder pressure makes you feel like you have to pee every hour at least. SO, take advantage of the 2nd trimester "break" when you get there. Best wishes to you - this difficult part WILL pass. The first trimester s u c k s!!! But the very best part of your pregnancy is just around the corner and it's amazing. Hang in there! :)

I'm 7 weeks an I have the same problem.  I bought a big pregnancy pillow an that helped a little.  An it has to be very cold or I don't sleep at all.  I'm going to talk to my Dr. about the tylenol PM.  I'm a nanny... so I need my energy LOL.  ( I keep 3 kids ...2,3, an 5. )  So I understand why your worried.   If you find some thing that works please let me know.  Good luck!  Anita
