(below 101). Since then, I have been having cramping in my low abdomen ranging from mild to severe and bleeding off and on. My OB did an ultrasound last week that showed 2 gestational
measuring 6 weeks (which would be right on) with a heart rate of 120. My hcgs went from 23,000 to 26,000 in two days.
Is it possible that I will miscarry the remaining embryo
? I did not go to the hospital after my carbon monoxide exposure. I wish I had. I was dizzy, nauseous, and had a headache that lasted a very long time.
Also, I am concerned about the affect the carbon monoxide will have on my embryo
. Would this cause any birth defects? Cerebral Palsy? What about the fever? Isn't that linked to neural tube defects? I wonder if I should even continue this pregnancy with hcg's that are not doubling. Please help!
HCG won't necessarily double once they have gotten that high, but they should continue to rise. The concern I would have is the baby being deprived of oxygen during that time. I don't know what the effects of that would be. Have you asked your doctor about possible consequences from this? I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.
My OB thought I was too early in the pregnancy to see any consequences, such as hypoxia. However, I am still concerned and was hoping to get a second opinion here. Thanks for the comments.
