Cerclage at 8 weeks?

Well, some of you may remember I had a couple questions about miscarraige (miscarriage). Now I have a couple more about cerclage and why my baby's mama is being the way she is. She is supposedly around 11 weeks pregnant now. She has apparently had 2 back surgeries during this pregnancy. About a week ago she had been complaining about not eating and throwing up and stomach pain. She was in and out of the ER. Eventually they diagnosed her with stomach cancer. She is in Dallas and I'm in San Antonio, I keep requesting that she send me a picture of the sonograph but she keeps "forgetting." My friends and I are actually wondering if she is even pregnant. About a week ago after getting out of the hospital she supposedly tried to kill herself by overdosing on Cocaine, which really pissed me off. Pardon my language. If I am having a baby, I at least want it to be healthy! Any suggestions on what my next move should be? Can you have a cerclage at 7-8weeks? Is it necessary? HELP!

Yes u can they place stitches on the cervix to prevent a miscarriage or early opening of the cervix...
wow u are in a hard spot i hope things work themselves out ... my best mates brothers ex kept saying she was pregnant and then she got cancer and blah blah blah she wasnt showing at all!!! so noone believed her ( she was a bean pole) anyways she gave birth to a beautiful BIG boy 8 pounds 11 ounces ( and i swear to god she was tiny !! there was no bump no nothing) anyways turns out the cancer was a load of **** ( why someone would fake having cancer i dont know ) but the baby was real ... i hope it works out for the best ur end take care xoxoxox

Well thanks femmie...I just want a nice healthy baby and for her to be so irresponsible really upsets me. My friends think she's just trying to get attention or something like that. Thanks for your opinion.

It is necessary to avoid miscarriage. Also pregnancy hormones seem to make cancer grow  and spread a lot faster and usually doctors want to abort the baby to deal with the cancer because of what the hormones do. So if she does have cancer they are likely to want to do that. I am a female who has lost one baby because I had cancer. They had to abort, and then they did surgery, and then radiation. Honestly if I where you I would go to where ever she is, and find out for yourself whether or not she is telling the truth. Pregnant females to need lots of support and sometimes say and do things just for attention. I dont know anything about your relationship with her but it would be best for you to go and find out for yourself.

Well, I'm on the phone with her and all she keeps talking about is killing herself and how she is now addicted to cocaine. I'm seriously trying to talk to her and find out what her problem is. I'm trying to figure out if she really does have cancer, and see what the treatment is. I still don't know what to do...really irritated and pissed...

Ask her a bunch of questions about the cancer and the pregnancy and let me know what she says. I have been thru this before and I might be able to tell if she is lying about something. Just dont upset her to bad or she might do something stupid. If I where you I would really go to see her if you are able to.

since its stomach cancer it is possible for it to spread to the uterus

if she has cancer she is likely to tell you what kinda cancer it is and what stage she is at. I have met many people who have had several different types of cancer including myself who tell you the type of cancer and what stage it is at. what will happen depends on the cancer and what stage she is at

Stomach cancer remains the second most frequent cause of cancer-related death worldwide and it usually happens to people with vitamin B12 deficiencies which is when the body cant absorb B12

hmm...well she said that there were some tumors and they were malignent and it was in her stomach...she goes in monday. I told her to find out everything, cuz this is serious for her own life.

the only chance that she will have to save herself and the baby is surgery now rather then waiting until she has the baby. If in fact there is a baby.

also i would highly advise that you do your own research on pregnancy and cancer.There are many medical sites out there that can help. Like webmd.com

hmmm... i heard that stomach surgery is hard to do surgery on. If it's in its advanced stage treatment is the only option...been reading...

I thought they only do cerclages around 17 weeks???? I wouldn't think they would do one at 8 weeks.

yeah, that's what I was told and what I have read, but apparently it's possible...or she isn't telling the truth, don't know
