I know I should not be confused I have been charting for what almost 4 months now. I have been using medhelp and fertility friend. I can not seem to figure out how to get medhelp to "Guess" my ovulation date like fertility friend does. So I thought I was 12 DPO as of today. I go to fertility friend which said I was 12 DPO I enter my temp and it goes and says now that I am 3 DPO I am SOOOOOO confused now. Has this happened to anyone else? I just don't know which chart to go by anymore.
I dont think medhelp predicts your ovulation, if im not mistaken you actually have to put in your ovulation day then it will do the dpo for you, i signed up for FF but never used it, i use medhelp and i pretty much no between which two days im going to ovulate, so i use the opks two days before the day i think im going to ovulate and sure is heck im normally right or a day off. If i was you, i would probably only use one or the other since they can be different.
Use an OPK... that is what I used. Although, I didn't use them this pregnancy, but they did work for me in Feb. of this year. The nice part was, the line that shows up before you ovulate gets progressively darker for each day you take it. So, as soon as a light line appeared on the stick, I knew that my husband and I needed to make sure we had sex
that night... and every night after that! hahaha... So, try using those. They are expensive, but if you look around online you can find coupons for them. Just google "ovulation kit coupons" and start from there.
It doesn't look like you have ovulation detection turned on for your MedHelp tracker. Go to your ovulation tracker and click Tracker Settings, then check off both FAM and OPK.
Based on your chart, I'm guessing the FAM prediction by MedHelp will match FertilityFriend's and say you're on 3DPO. MedHelp would have predicted that you're on 12 DPO except that you had a really high temp on July 25th. Using the FAM method, ovulation is only predicted by 6 days of low temps followed by 3 days of higher temps (at least .2 degrees higher). Since your temp on July 25th is so high, MedHelp won't identify July 28th as your ovulation day. If you think your temp was wrong on 7/25, your ovulation day was probably 7/28 (my best guess) rather than 8/5.
in July so I know that my cycle may be a little messed up. My doc told me not to wait my money right now on OPK's I did that for 3 months....and as soon as I stopped I ended up preggers. So...Instead of not spending that money he suggested to just keep up with my temps. I'm about to give it all up and say forget it all....
I just turned FAM on and....hopefully it'll work...who really knows anymore.
Sk123- Thanks so much I actually do understand that a little. I just don't understand why it changes. Again I only use these two sites because the doc suggested fertility friend...and I'm addicted to MedHelp!!! I figured I would enter my info here and if I forgot to transmit it over to FF then I could easily check back here. Thanks for your help!!!
FF will go based off your temps and they can and will do that sometimes. There are so many variables and issues with temping that things like this happen all of the time. Not everyone is one-size-fits-all. You could very well be 12dpo.
My only suggestion is that you use more than one method of determining your fertility so that when things like this come up, you're not as confused. You could use OPKs (they don't work for everyone) or chart your CM changes.
I think that's what I am going to have to start doing...charting CM changes. I've never been really good at that but hey...there is time for everything! I was hoping I was further along DPO like 12 days so that I could test on the 13th. That's our 3 year anniversary. How fun would that be find out on your anniversary. Who knows. Thanks for you suggestion....I just might have to "learn" the correct ways of doing it!
Okay so this morning after entering my new temp FF changed my Ovulation date back to the 23rd. So I am not 12 DPO or something like that. If AF hasn't come by the 13th then I'll test....if it does then i'll just keep going. Thanks for your help ladies.
