CoEd baby shower? I need Ideas

CoEd baby shower? I need Ideas

Ok... so I'm having a baby shower soon.. technically my mom is throwing it, but in reality it's more like I am... since I'm doing all the planning for her.
It's gonna be Coed and I'll probably have about 20girls and 10 guys.. if even that many. Alot of ppl I know.

Does anyone have any game ideas?

What about the theme?

I want blue color, with green frogs, so it's not super girly anyways... but I need some good Ideas. it'll be held at a local pizza place on Aug. 2nd. and so far the Ideas I have are:

Apple juice drinking contest from a baby bottle..

Guess whats in the diaper. (candy bars melted in the diaper)

Guess the baby food.

Games I have played at babyshowers

blindfolded pick through a bowl of rice for safety pins.

guess size of belly you can use either toilet paper or streamer

if you have  a name picked out see how many other words they can spell out with the letters of the full name.

give everyone a name tag with baby items words on it when they arrive (burp rag, poopie diaper, binky, spit up) and a safety pin and when someone hears them uses a name other than whats on the name tag they have to give up there safety pin and at the end of the shower who ever has the most safety pins wins.

I have played all those games at co-ed showers....but to get the guys to drink out of the bottles they put alcohol in it.  LOL, of course they couldnt just chug the apple juice!

hmm.. good Idea, but there will be several underage ppl at my shower... so I'm gonna need it to be alcohol free for the most part.

I would limit it to 3 games and what you have already sounds really good and fun! I've never heard of the applejuice one and that sounds like a lot of fun!!! Your theme should match your baby, which you've obviously already done (very cute, by the way).

Sounds like you're set, girl!!! Have fun and I hope you get everything you need for baby.

I had a co-ed baby shower with my first daughter. My colors were purple and green with a butterfly theme. It was a lot of fun!

Thanks Joy, I'm glad to know i'm not the only one who's done a coed shower.. lol, It's gonna be tough enough getting DH to go.

You know what made my DH excited?! I told him he could open the gifts. I'm a happy and nice person, but when it comes to opening gifts... I just don't like the attention. So my happy-go-lucky VERY energetic and expressive husband had that job and loved it. He was putting gift bows from the packages on his head and unwrapping with gusto!

Just find what'll make him excited (pizza should be enough... right?! LOL!)!!!

hmm... Yea, Pizza SHOULD work.. but he's an odd dude. Maybe I'll do what you did and offer to let him open the gifts. He would probably like that.

I just had my baby shower on saturday,m my baby girl is 2 months old now, it was held off do to complications i had and these are the games my sister came up with

Baby food testing -guess what kind of baby food it is
diaper game - give each guest a diaper and fill it with baby food, fill each one with something ( leave one diaper out and put a bit of water in it, and that person that gets the wet diaper wins).
baby bottle race- fill the bottles up with juice and use slow flow nipples
guess how many candys are in the jar.

There is so many. have fun, they are a blast :)

I just had my baby shower this Saturday.  All of the ideas listed above sound like they'd be fun (for both the guys and gals).  We did the "Guess-how-big-the-preggo's-belly-is" game using string... that was hilarious watching people try to figure out JUST how big my belly was.  One of my cousins held a basketball up to his belly and measured that... but the winner used my uncle's beer belly (minus an inch or two).  =)

Have fun!!  (I like the baby bottle/apple juice game)

We also had a coed party for my daughter and her fiance.  I wanted to mention one game that we did - called "How well do you know the new mommy".   I made up questions about my daughter, like "what day of the week was she born" and "what is her middle name" or "what name did she give her pacifier (her "pie")".....  Things like that.  I thought it would be fun for everyone to get to hear some facts about the new mommy.  Especially with her fiance's family there - - - they learned a lot about her.  Of course, we did the string around the belly and a word unscrammble game.  Hope you have fun!

You could put a clothes pin on everyones clothes and tell everyone that they can't say baby at all and if they slip up, the person who caught them saying baby gets their pin. Whoever has the most pins by the end of the baby shower wins a prize. And just because you get your pin taken away you can get it back from someone else! My aunt one this game a few years ago...She had like 10!

And to make the diaper game more interesting you can use other things besides candy bars. I went to one with GROSS diapers. Like cheese, spices, hoisin sauce, just smelly things! lol A few of them made me gag!

Another one that was really funny was the cotton ball game. You get a big bowl, a serving spoon, and a bag of cotton balls. You spread the cotton balls onto the floor. Blindfold the person playing and give them all say...30 seconds to spoon cotton balls into the bowl. Now the cotton balls weigh nothing pretty much so they can't tell how many they are getting...so after times up, count the CBs and the person with the most is the winner!

Or time diaper changes. How long it takes to get off the dirty diaper off and put on the new one. I was only 13 at the time of playing this so of course I didn't win! lol
