Conception

Conception

My husband and I have decided to start tying to conceive.  Ive only had two natural periods in my life. One when i was a sophmore  and one the second week of September 2011.  I went to the doctor and they did a pap and took blood and said everything was fine but they put me on birth control, this was in January 2011. I took the birthcontrol for a month and had a peroid in Febuary of 2011. I stopped taking it after a month because i cramped so bad.  Am i able to concieve (conceive)? My husband and I never use any kind of protection, we dont use the pull out method, and yet we have still never even had a pregnancy scare?!  Any Ideas on what I should do to conceive? We were really hoping to have a "baby" announcment come Christmas of this year.  Please give advise! Thank You!

you should talk to your Dr about your options, there are medications out there that could help... also its hopeful to want a baby announcement by Christmas but realistically it can take any couple over a year to concieve (conceive) so try not to add pressure... once youve talked to your Dr, there are other ways of increasing your chances... if you go to the group trying to conceive there is a title called "deanna's sperm meets egg plan" which from the comments has helped others conceive... good luck!

I just had a baby in February of this year. I have not had a period since..and just found out we are pregnant again and due june 2012.  We wanted to have more children, but didnt think it would happen this fast (since i havent had a period yet..not breastfeeding..milk never came in..was told i had low estrogen) My periods have always been somewhat regular before my second child.  It only took me one try to concieve (conceive) my first two..and well i guess my third. lol

if you are not having your periods..it may be due to low estrogen..as it was with me..does your  hair fall out easily? that was another thing i had.  but YOU CAN get pregnant without periods..im walking proof!  knocked up first time without protection since i had my 2nd child in feb.

Thanks, I not expecting to be pregnant by Christmas, it was just something that we thought would be an awesome Christmas present for the family, both of his sisters have children and they always say we are falling behind :) so they really want us to have children.
When they Dr. took the blood tests she checked my hormone levels, and she said that nothing was wrong so i assume that my estrogen levels are fine.
Also would taking prenatal vitamins now help in any way?

You should start Prenatals 3 months before you intend to conceive, because it gives your body what you need for when you do get pregnant. They do not help fertility though. Lack of a period indicates lack of ovulation, and without ovulation you won't get pregnant. A female can get pregnant without a period, because you ovulate before you ever bleed. Your doctor needs to do more testing to see what is going on.

yes. i would start taking prenatals.  they will help with having a healthy pregnancy and the earlier you start the better.
