Cramping and Nausea

Cramping and Nausea

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for several months now but to no avail. My cycle is very long at about 40-42 days but also very regular. Last week I would have been ovulating and we had sex every other day for the whole week. Yesterday (9/16) I started to get this overwhelming sense of nausea and also some cramping that is similar but also different to that of my normal period. Today (9/17) the nausea is worse and so is the cramping and it seems to be around my left lower abdomen near my ovary. Since my period is technically not due until around 10/1 I feel that it would be very early for me to be getting these symptoms as a result of my period being on it’s way. I am wondering if what I am experiencing could be associated with implantation and not necessarily with my period. To me it seems less likely that my cycle would have suddenly gotten shorter. I can’t technically take a HPT for a couple of weeks but this stress of not knowing is going to drive me crazy. I guess what I am asking is that is it possible for me to even be feeling any symptoms related to implantation or pregnancy this early on; or is it just wishful thinking on my part? Again, the nausea and cramping are quite profound and although similar symptoms of my period, much different as well. If anyone has any info they could share with me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Shannon.

Implantation usually occurs 6-10 days after fertilization.  Some women have said that they experienced pregnancy "symptoms" early and others will tell you it's not possible.  If you are in fact experiencing implantation, a pregnancy test could show positive by next week.  It's hard to say at this moment.  I really know what you are going through.  So many of us have tried like crazy to get pregnant and when it doesn't happen right away, it really sucks.  Take care, and let us know what happens.

It could also be from ovulation

I ovulated a week ago; I wouldn't be feeling symptoms of ovulation well over a week later. Besides, I have never had any strange symptoms from ovulation before so I don't know. You could be right, I think I'm just really getting my hopes up. Also, it's now been 3 days of these symptoms and I still have not gotten a period.

So it's been a full week now; the symptoms have definitely gotten worse. I am now nauseous almost all of the time. I am eating everything in sight and I am craving chocolate and salt non stop. As I mentioned almost a week ago, I have been having many symptoms but still no period. My face is swollen, I am bloated, tired, achy, my breasts hurt, my lower back hurts and of course the nausea. I took a HPT last Wendesday but did not use FMU and it came up negative. I called my doc on Friday and before I could even finish getting out all of the symptoms she said "You're pregnant!" I explained how I techinically haven't missed my period yet since my cycle is so long. I went in for a blood test this morning but will not have the results until tomorrow morning. Could I be pregnant? I want to believe it so much but I also don't want to get my hopes up and be let down. Any information?
