by jacquiedl, Mar 27, 2009 04:48AM
my friend is 18 wks preg. and she is very concerning about the cramping she is having. her doctor keeps reassuring her that it is likely just the strething of ligaments.  she has no spotting, fever or other symptoms.  has this happened to otherr?

Stretching/cramping is a common issue among pregnant women. It's how are bodies get prepared for labor and the carrying of a baby. I think it gets worse the farther along you are, not necessarily cramping, but different pains that come with stretching

right around 18 weeks I had round ligament pain, oh it hurt!!!! Its very normal but also very painful, its just your ligaments stretching, it feels like a muscle cramp on your belly OUCH!!  Usually hurts on one side more than the other.
