Cramping...but no period???

by tryingforbaby2007, Dec 04, 2007 05:54PM
Okay... I've been actively trying to concieve for the past 12 days. I have no clue if I was ovulating anytime in that period, because I am always irregular, and never really know when to expect my period. Last Thurs-Sat I had period like cramps for most of the day, then Sun-Mon of this week I still had cramps w/a bad headache that came & went...But still no period.  I took a hpt on Fri and this morning, but were negative..which I know is common since its really too early to tell anyways..but could I be pregnant already, and would I be feeling anything yet???

You could be pregnant and feeling it, but it would be rare to feel it that soon. Plus, even more rare since you weren't sure if you were ovulating. If you just randomly started having sex 12 days ago and actually hit ovulation time...good for you! How can you say it's too early to tell if you don't know if you missed your period yet or not? I would test again just to make sure. But give it at least 30 days since your last period to make sure...just in case you are really regular.

I say that its too early to tell cause its not possible that it could have happen any early then 12 days ago since we hadn't had sex since before my last period which was Oct 12. My cycle usually ranges somewhere between 35-45ish days. The cramps that I have been having are nothing like I have experienced in the past. Before I would get cramps only the day of my period and the few first days of bleeding..never more than a day before, and I've been having them now for 5 days. I really hate the waiting..arg...I'm not patient :)

I actually quit taking the pill on October 20th for us to have another baby and cramped with no period on November 5th and 6th.  I am pretty sure looking back now that it was actually implantation taking place and I didn't get a positive HPT until the week of Thanksgiving.  We must be pretty darn fertile because I didn't even have another period--we just got pregnant!!!!  LOL  I would say that could very well be implantation and it may take up to two weeks to show up on a test.  Good luck to you:)

Did u normally get cramps leading up to your period? Its weird cause I had alot of Cramps Fri/Sat and a little Sun & Mon, but none today and still no period. I just really want to know one way or the other..of course I hope I'm pregnant tho.

I would normally get cramps and within that same day or the next day start my period.  So, when I had cramping for two days and not period I strongly thought I may be preggo already and sure enough I was!!  It could take up to 14 days past implantation to get a positive HPT so you will just have to wait it out:(  I know it's hard!

Thanks..I really hope that I am. These cramps just feel totally different than my period cramps of the past. Without having a expected period date, I don't really have much to go on except for what I'm feeling. What did your cramps feel like..very they in the center like your uterus, or all over. Mine feel like they are all over, both ovaries and the center in my uterus..many times I could have sworn my period has started, but it hadn't

Sorry, I answered that other one you posted:)  That sounds exactly like what I went through and felt like too--I kept thinking I was starting but didn't!  My cramps were pretty strong for two days, but this can vary for every woman.  Some don't even get implantation cramping, but it sounds to me like that is what you're having.  Hang in there and if you still haven't started in two weeks, take a HPT and I bet it will be positive.  Keep us posted:)

I will..thanks for the response. I really don't have anyone I can talk to this about. None of my friends have kids, and we want to keep it a suprise from our parents.

you are never irregular actually your ovulation is always on time. just so you know.
and i had the same thing happen to me with the cramps, and it turns out i'm now 8 weeks pregnant! get checked by your doctor. i also too two hpt's one being the first response, and they have always worked in the past, but this time it didn't. get a blood test done, and it should answer everything

How soon would a hpt even be accurate. I can at the most only be 12 pregnant? If that.
