Dizziness/Lightheadedness?

Dizziness/Lightheadedness?

Does anyone else have a lot of dizziness and lightheadedness?  I am 7 1/2 weeks along and seem to be having it quite often.  I wouldn't say severe like falling over or anything, but definitely annoying.  It definitely adds to that sick-to-my-stomach feeling sometimes.  I am taking Prometrium and wonder if maybe that adds to it?  Just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this.  Thanks!

With my first pregnancy I actually passed out because of it.  After that i new what was coming and was able to "catch" myself before i passed out.  Anyway i think its common to pregnancy It happened to be daily for the first 3-4 months.

Yeah its common in pregnancy. You may want to have your doctor check to see if you have pregnancy anemia though since that is usually the cause of the dizzy/light headed feeling.

have you had an ultrasound yet? is the baby in the right place?  if not, i don't want to scare you, but i just had an ectopic pregnancy rupture last week, and the first symptom was fainting. if you know your baby is in the right place, then don't worry about it, its probably just anemia, or something as simple as an ear infection.  but if you have not seen your baby on ultrasound, you might want to call your dr. right away. good luck and i wish you the best.

When i was pregnant easpecially my 1st the lightheadedness was really bad...i couldnt take a shower b4 eating anything because I would have to sit in the sjhower running cold water on myself to make it feel better...but i never had morning sickness...that was weird to me...the dizziness made me feel sick though....it was horrible....but like most ever other bad pregnant symptom it passes with time,....

My ultrasound showed everything in the right place- so that's a good thing.  I called and talked to the nurse this morning and she said dizziness can be common in pregnancy but also that I should not let too much time pass between eating and be careful not to eat all high carb foods because of the sugar levels dropping.  She said that can make dizziness worse.  I have been eating less, and eating carbs to settle my stomach.  They are calling me in some Phenergan for nausea but I am not so sure I'll take it.  Have any of you ever taken it while pregnant?  My nausea isn't severe but it curbs my appetite, like everything turns my stomach.

I'm taking Phenergan now, but I only take it at night b/c it does have the tendency to make you a little sleepy.  Try to drink plenty of water, and eat fruit in between meals.  It's ok not to have too much of an appetite as long as you stay hydrated.  You may want to make sure you're taking prenatals with iron just to keep your levels up.  Other than that I wouldn't worry too much!  Anything is liable to happen while your body is a human baby factory!

have you thought of possibly having your ears checked?  my dizziness/ lightheadedness got pretty severe this time around and my ob told me to go have my ears checked (although i didn't!).  it could also just be that this is the way your body is reacting to your pregnancy and may go away after delivery.  i hope you feel better!  in the meantime the only thing i can think of (that the docs probably already told you) would be to drink tons of water and rest as much as possible...  i know sometimes that's easier said than done since i don't ever have the chance to do it either!  :)

We are 32wks with our 4th and last - strangely enough, I also started to feel dizzie and lightheaded. We have just found out that we are gestational diabetes - never had it with any other child - something to consider. I did have the advise nurse tell us before testing for diabetes that dehydration was probably the cause - and recommended a gatorade which did help.
