I'm not sure if its a need or want item...I've gotten mixed reviews so I am hoping to get a few more!

DD loved hers. She learned to sit really early, so she didn't use it for very long. Perhaps it helped her sit so early?

Jadyn got his for christmas.  He's 3 months old now and will sit in it for awhile. He hasn't really gotten the hang of grabbing and playing with toys yet but he really likes sitting upright and since he can't quite do it on his own the bumbo is really nice for that.

I got one, it's awsome!  It helps your little one sit up a lot faster I think.  My DD loved her's and still does, she's 2.  I'm glad I've got it though, I want to get the tray for it for this baby, but I've heard some bad reviews on it (the tray, not the bumbo).  I also took it to my baby sitters house, she had been sitting for kids for 20 years and loved the bumbo.  I stopped bringing my daughters in because the sitter bought two for her business... It's another way to help strengthen the babys neck and gets the baby off the floor and out of a laying postion without you holding them at an earlier age.

There's another brand that has the tray and toys with  - I can't recall but that's what I have.  not the 'bumbo' brand name but another type of seat that has a tray and toys that came wtih. Also this seat you can take out some of the supports and it can become a booster seat.  It's more expensive than the bumbo but when you add in the price of the tray and toys and that it turns into a booster - it's more cost effective.

See if there's a 'Once Upon a Child' near you - that way you might not have to pay full price!

Yes, we have one and loved it!  Sarah sat in it for several months (and still likes to play with it!)  It also served great as a portable high chair.  They hadn't invented the 'tray' for it when we used it but I will DEFINITELY be purchasing the tray for our next child!  I always wished there was a way to attach a toy to it...and the tray seems like it would make that easier.  :)

i got one for my baby shower.  he is due in 3 weeks.  at what age do you start to sit them in the bumbo seat?  this is my first baby so i have not clue.

Leighanne - Around 3 months or when they can start supporting and holding up their head.

Sweetangel - I bought one at 3 months for my daughter and she LOVED it. It helped her learn to sit and support herself within a month and a half. It also was great to feed her in before I got a high chair.

I used bumbo with my twins since they were 5 months old and they are almost 11 months now. I did not feel high chair was safe at that time for meal times so when I saw bumbo at Walmart, I grabbed them.  They are very easy to clean and light weight. My girls are comfortable in them. I really like the texture, very soft for babies.

Wow...sounds like lots of moms and babies like them!  I'll put one on my registry...I'm having a family shower in three more weeks on the 21...so far I'm only missing two things now, the breast pump (I think I might just buy it anyways) and now the bumbo...diapers would be nice too!  Those haven't come off of the registry =(

Thanks ladies!
