Does my Dog ....

by aeslehc15, Dec 16, 2007 07:36PM
Here is a weird question. I've tired looking it up on the net but haven't found too much.

My dogs have recently been sniffing in my 'area', when I'm standing to do my hair, sitting on the couch wherever. They used to NEVER do this and recently my husband and I are ttc. Could this be sign? Has anyone else had their dogs do this?

I have yet to find out, I can take an early test tomorrow but I'm not schedule to get AF until Friday.

Yes, dogs know when women are pregnant. They can also sniff out diseases and cancers in people, too (if they're trained). Or infections. Most dogs will become very cuddly and protective of a pregnant woman. I know my in-laws' dog was drawn to me like a magnet when I was pregnant.

I'm very interested to know if you're pregnant! You'll have to let us know what the test says!!!

Ha.  I thought about this a while back.  I have a big dog and it seems like he would always sniff me when I had my period.  He sniffed me a lot when I had a miscarriage too.  I hope he sniffs me again soon (ha - that sounds gross) if they can in fact detect pregnancy.  Good luck.  Keep us posted! :)

come to think about it every morning my st. bernard would lay his head on my belly and wake me up, now the last week he wont lay his head on my belly he puts his paw on my arm, and yesterday morning he licked me stomache and started barking at it...and tuesday i found out i was 4 weeks  pregnant!! so yes dogs do know those things!!

Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one with this occurring. I thought it was weird at first but now I think it's actually kinda cool.
