Faint Positive!

I got  my first faint positive ever this morning.  I was worried I was just seeing things as it was VERY VERY light but my hubby who has horrible eye sight said that he could also see it.  I am so nervous that it is a fluke though.   I always read where other women post about their faint positives and they just feel so unsure about them but now I understand.  I would feel a little better if it had been a little darker i mean it was very light but it was there and in the correct amount of time.  How many days before yall think I should get a real BFP?  Yall think it still counts if you have to strain to see it?  Thanks ladies!  I am trying not to get excited for fear it could be nothing.

What kind of test was it? Some detect lower amounts of the hormone... I would call your doc and get blood work done.  They can tell you for sure if it' + or -...just be careful with testing early as chemical pregnancies are so dang common.

YAY!!!!!! A positive is a positive..... I tested 11dpo and got a very faint positive with First Response, I tried the very next morning 12dpo and got a much much darker positive+ with  the e.p.t. +/- test its so much clearer to see the sign and its no I think there is a line can you see it game!!! So if you got another test you can try first thing tomorrow morning or wait about 3 days. But Its a POSITIVE!!!!!!!

I got a faint positive with DD#2 that was SO FAINT my husband couldn't see it and wouldn't believe I was pregnant until I came home from the doc with a goody bag full of prenatals and pamphlets!

I seriously had to turn it in a certain light to see the line, it was so faint. Don't bother re-testing! Just schedule an appt with your doc and start those prenatals!!! CONGRATS!!!

What does DH say?! I bet he's thrilled!

Congrats!!  I always take 2 or 3 tests!!  I'm sure you could take one first thing in the morning and it may be much darker then.  So happy for you!!!

Yes Joy Renee!..In some light at a certain angle I can see it really well and then at the other angle I can't really see it that good...Yes my hubby is very happy but we are both still a little iffy about if it's for real or not...I guess after a miscarriage that is common.  I will prob retest tomorrrow and the next day and see if it's any darker.  It was the $1 dollar store test.  and i have used like 1000 of them before and never saw a faint line like this one so i guess thats a good thing. I have prenatals that i have been taking so i will just be sure i dont miss any. I would be 16 days since sex and i think about 14 dpo.  I should be about 5 days since implantation.

When I tested and got a faint line - I gave it to my husband and at first glance he thought it was negative - I said, "Uh, look closer..."  I tested again in two days and got a way darker line. I'd say a Congrats are in order!

yeah I have done them all...dollar store, first response,ept,clearblue.  There is pink and blue dye...which do yall think is better for determing a faint positive?..the dollar sotre ones are pink dye but they are 25miu

i had three very faint positive for my first pregnancy. and i called the phone number on teh box and and the man told me if you see it no matter how light or dark it is its  POSITIVE!!!! :)

25 is a good detection test! I need to go to the dollar store too.  I just bought Answer today and it was 12 bucks and only detects 100!  As long as it isnt one of those tests with the evaporation line then a line is a line!  Congrats!  Does anyone know which brands have the evapo line?  I read online that some brands say not to read the results after time limit...

I got like 5 faint positives before I got my BFP. It was driving me crazy, I thought I was seeing things or losing my mind. Even other people told me to give up and stop testing but I didn't and finally got my BFP. Trust yourself and congrats!!

i hear ya!  when i got a faint line, i swear i tested 3 more times that day, about 3 the following, and 3 every day after that until i got into the Dr.'s!  Congrats!

Congrats on you faint positive.  Any line there is a good line - even if it's hard to see.  I'm so happy for you and I hope everything goes well for you.

thanks ladies...i'm so worried it's all in my mind...hubby saw it too so I guess that helps.  This is how he described it... "a pink line that looks like the other line but it got erased"  lol....at least he saw it.  Anyways I have a bunch of strange symptoms so hopefully i'll get a BFP tomorrow to go along with them.  I am finishing a glass of tea now and i'm going to try and not drink anything else until after i test in the morning.  Thanks again for the encouraging words.

i got faint positive too last 2 month..DH saw it too. i tested at 14 DPO, it is faint but you can clearly see it without tilting the test stick.. 2 days later i got my AF, and follwoed by bunch of negative HPTs.. i think i had chemical pregnancy...or i miscarried early..

anyhow, iam finally conceived the month followed and now 6 weeks pregnant.. so good luck  to you and lots of baby dust!!

Congrats!!!!!  I got an EXTREMELY faint line as well and right after that I went straight to Walgreens and bought a digital test that actually says pregnant or not pregnant...............you can't get any clearer than that and it said pregnant:)  I think you should get one of those because it's soooo fun to see the word rather than a line that's barely there.  Good luck and keep us posted....

yes I retested this morning with the same kind of test and got a BFN!  I am so aggrivated.  I am convinced that I am not pregnant...regardless of all the symptoms.  Hubby still thinks I am which is strange b/c it's usually the other way around.  I just want to have a dern glass of wine and he says I still cant b/c I could still be pregnant.  With the last pregnancy I took a test everyday and didnt get a pos until 7 days after my missed period.  That would be about this coming Sat.  I guess I will just have to hang on until then.  However I am not positive when I ovulated and we did have sex Jan 2nd so I guess I get to go crazy for the next few weeks.

hey im sorry about the neg, but dont loose hope yet, maybe it was a deff test. you test with the same kinda test? the one you just tested with might not be that strong.

Ah man im sorry i really thought you were.but listen girl if and i mean if you get af next month.dont just rely on a doctors estimate of when you ovulate,you need get few bd in before ov also,having sex only on ov day isnt going to garrentee pregnancy.ideally you need those spermies there before that egg pops...saw on your other post about tests,i would get some of those sticks and start using them....its going to happen girl it will...

I would really strongly recommend getting the cheaper Walgreens brand digital test--I got mine there and it was 2 tests for like $14.  Try that because it gives a clear answer................it could help:)  I think if you got a faint line before that the second test may be wrong.  Getting a false negative is WAY more likely than getting a false positive.  Keep us posted and hang in there:)

I would go in and get a blood test now.  I also had an extremely faint positive, so I went and got a blood test that same day.  It showed that I was definitely pregnant!  Don't put yourself through this torture, the blood test will tell you for sure!

thanks tarajanes.  Yeah if my period comes and i am infact not preggers I WILL be getting some ovulation sticks or a monitor.  We wernt really trying this month it just happened and just happened to be around the right time but since we have decided to actually try I will be monitoring.

Did you read yesterday's test after the recommended time limit?  Could it have been an evaporation line?  You've been psyching yourself out with all these pregnancy symptoms.  Why dont you go buy a digital that will say pregnant or not pregnant...or get a blood test to see if you have a level of detectable hcg?  If you keep stressing your AF will be LATEr and later!

yes i read it withing the time limit.  thats why i figured i would get another faint today or a stronger line..but nothing.  The thing that is so frustrating is i have PCOS and my progestrone gets low and when it does i have crazy things happen to my body...much which are like pregnancy symptoms so I try not to ever really think i'm pregnant b/c it's too hard to tell the differance.  Hubby however is convinced....i'm just going to wait and see if AF comes or I get a BFP sometime this month.  On a 41 day cycle I should get my period on the 15th of Jan.

Hey you should look at the site MyMonthlyCycles.com..... Its got a really neat ov predictor and if you know what length your cycles are it can help you narrow down the def few days to test for ov' so that your going to have better luck! The site helped me out with the use of ov test an the site I am now 5 weeks 3days....... I have recommended this site to many ladies and they love it! It even has a pregnancy test calculator.... The sister site MyBaby.com is great for when you get your def. BFP

I use that site as well,i think they are good,however one shouldnt rely on them to much,since a computer program cant tell us we ovulating...only our own bodys and hormones cant dictate this,along with those smiley face ov tests,just love the day you get a smiley.....i ov different days a month so they arent that reliable,but good fun,im sure for some it works.im unfortunate and periods can be bit scatty,you can get rough idea though..love charting think its great...

I have heard bad things about $ store tests and evap lines. Some women have experiences getting an evap line even before the 10 minute mark with those tests. I would say wait a couple days and try a FRER or a digital.

First Response Early Result. I used that when I thought I was pregnant. I took a dollar store test and got a faint line took another and no positive. I went and got a FRER and it was a much darker line! I recomend it.

First Response Early Result. I have heard nothing but good things about those tests. They are in a pink box, I think and you can test up to 5 days before your missed period. Your period isn't due until the 15th right? I would definitely say to wait a few more days, as hard as that sounds!

thanks...that makes me feel a little better and have a little hope.  I have used that kind in the past but didnt know what the FRER ment.  I may get one tomorrow and try it on Tuesday morning.  Well there is no telling when my period is due.  I usually get 5 or 6 a year.  Last one was about  41 days apart.  If it were a 41 day cycle this cycle then Jan 15th would be 41 days from my last.
