Feeling down and out today :(

by daisymomlove, Oct 22, 2008 12:29AM
So here lately today I've been alittle down and out.  I just keep thinking about my other two pregnancies and how with them I felt pregnant indeed and was ready to eat everything in sight.  But with this one I really don't feel preggo besides haveing the little tummy getting alittle bigger.  Today I fixed my favorite food creamy ranch posta.  I took a few bites and didn't want it anymore.  It seems as though  I don't want to eat at all.  I don't have the major sickness anymore but I still don't want to eat.  With my other two pregnancies I would eat all the time.  Now I can't really eat unless my stomach is growling and then I have to eat because I'm so hungy.  I was able to snack all day with my other two pregnancies but I can't really do that either now except for maybe crackers and chips.  I know that every pregnancy is different but it really ***** and is heartbreaking that I  can't eat that much.  I'm a small gal and only weighed 125.  My last docs app. was about 2 or 3 weeks ago and I weighed 132.8.  I weighed myself yesterday and I weighed 127!  I'm just hopeing that I'll be able to eat further along in my pergnancy and not lose any more weight.  I know that in the 1st trimester its normal to lose weight, but I'm trying to get alittle thick just because I'm small lol.  Has anyone ever felt down like this before?  What things helped you eat more and how long did this last for you?  It's weird to ask for me lol since I'm not a new mother but this experiance is new to me and don't get me wrong I would never not want this pregnancy, but I'm not enjoying it at all!  There is nothing worse then not feeling like you're pregnant.  I just want this feeling to go away.  If I could just be able to really eat it wouldn't be that much of a problem

hi there, i know exactly what your going through, the first 4 months was a real struggle for me and like you i lost a lot of weight in that time through constant sickness that would last pretty much all day and if i was hungry i felt sick and if i even had a couple of bites of a sandwich i would feel full and it does make you feel down but im sure thats hormones too, im now 24 weeks and 4 days and ive only just started building my weight up this month really and my appetite has definatly increased so i wouldnt worry too much your body will be giving your baby all the nutrients it needs and could be the reason that you are losing weight as if your not eating enough for you and your baby your body will automaticly send it to the places its needed the most so the baby will get fed even if you dont feel you are, i found that because i was getting so full after such little food eating a little bit but often will be fine just nibble when your able too and dont let your tummy get too empty they suggest every 4 hours should keep the hunger pangs away. try not to worry too much you will be fine but just keep an eye on your weight if your still losing and really cant stomach any food then go to the docs and see what they suggest, good luck with your pregnancy hope you feel better soon x

To: everyone
Thanks so much.  I love this page because you get so many people with the same problems and have went through it as well.  Its so soothing to know that we're not the only ones.  I go back to my obgyn nov. 5th.  My last app.  I thought it was the chewable prenatale vitimans that were makeing me sick so my obgyn said that it was ok to quit takeing them but I have to continue to take them at 12wks.  But finding out that they weren't makeing me sick that its just my body I guess.  But when I go back to the doctors I'm going to ask my obgyn what I can do to make me eat better.  But what I realized today which is kind of funny but not.  I have a little girl that's almost 2.  She usually is a big eater.  I have noticed that she doesn't want to eat that much either.  I have to shove food in her face every couple of hours just to hope that she'll eat.  I even cracked down on her fluids.  I felt so bad this morning.  I layed next to her and her poor little tummy was growling.  I fixed us some chicken nuggets and even ate slow forceing myself to eat and hopeing that she would eat as well.  She maybe ate one and a half chicken nugget.  I felt so bad,  I think me not eating she sees it and doesn't want to eat.  I don't know if this is the case, but that's one major thing i'm going to ask my obgyn.  DH is getting all the craveings and eating 10 times more than me.  He also has all the heart burn so far haha lol!  Hopefully he keeps the heartburn to himself.
