First Trimester bleeding

This is my second pregnancy, the first one went completely smooth, no complications of any sort. This time I'm having moderate to heavy bleeding at about 9 weeks. I've gone to see my OB and all they did was look at my cervix and the baby and tell me that both seem to be fine. Cervix isn't opening, baby has a heartbeat. However they gave me no explanation to why I'm still bleeding. Now four days after the doctor visit I'm bleeding a bit more heavily then before but I'm loathsome to go back to the doctor and be told that I'm fine again because they only check two things. Can there be another cause for the bleeding? I'm extremely tired of being told "it's ok" when it doesn't feel that way. Any advice would be lovely.

A tear in the vagina, a sensitive cervix or a hematoma could be reasons for bleeding. Did they check the placenta as well via the ultrasound? Sometimes there can be blood pooled behind the placenta.

They didn't check anything but the heartbeat and my cervix.....but now I have some questions for next time. ^_^ thanks.

Also on another note, I've been regulating how much blood occurs and when. I seem to bleed the most at night but through out the day I only have what would be considered a light period or maybe even just spotting.
