First U/S today!

by avik7, Feb 11, 2009 01:49PM
Hey girls. I went for my appt. the dr said everything looked good. she showed me the fetal pole and she also saw a faint hb..we tried to listen for it but couldnt hear it yet! so the only thing she saw was a cyst. which she said is normal in pregnancys but that it usualy gets smaller by now. she says its pretty common for it to still be big tho. in 99% of cases it gets smaller by the time the placenta takes over. the only thing that could happen is it could twist my ovary and cut off oxygen to it. so im going back in next week for another u/s and to check on the cyst. hopefully the cyst will have shrunk some by then. she told me to take it easy so it doesnt twist or rupture, but she thought it would be fine! Im so happy everything went great. I can relax a little now! has anyone else had this cyst thing?

Congrats I'm glad everything went well. I have cysts also. The ob said the same thing. The one on my right side is getting pretty big so they are watching it, but they think it will go down over the next few weeks. I read something about how cysts are good for you in the first trimester as they cause your body to produce progesterone.

Congrats! I am glad everything went well on the Ultrasound and you were able to see a little heartbeat! Just make sure you take it easy and I am sure the cyst will shrink and take care of itself!

Congrats! I'm glad that everything looked good during the scan! I wouldn't really worry about the cyst thing its actually really common in pregnancy.

I have had cyst's ever since i was a teenager, and my doctor has never seemed to worried about it. I have an 11 month old soon, and when i was pregnant with him i also had 2 cyst's but they never gre or anything, and i am not 11 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and again when i went for my ultrasound they found a cyst on my right ovary but they weren't too concerned.
I'm sure that everything will be fine...don't worry too much about it.
