Well I got a call from my doctors office wanting to make sure I went for the second blood draw today. My progesterone is fine 10.3 and my Hcg is 74.6. I have read on here I think but was hoping someone could reassure me, it doesn't matter what the number is so long as it doubles in 48 hours correct??? The nerves
have totally set in, I know there is absolutley nothing I can do to change the outcome but I wish there was a way to peek into seven weeks from now to see if I am still pregnant. The doctor has not mentioned anything about an early ultrasound although I haven't even been for my first visit yet. I guess if for some reason I stop feeling pregnant I will make a call and request to be seen. UGH!!! I thought the TWW was horrible this is worse...
Hi,
I would call your Dr's to make sure your progesterone levels are okay, they sound a little low. Mine were only a little bit higher than yours and they put me on suppositories.
I know sweetie and i'm sorry but i want you to have all the correct info that you need. At this stage of pregnancy they like the levels to be above 11 and they eventually will even out at about 9-12 weeks in the 30's. They took me off the progesterone at 8 weeks my level was 31ish.
I dont know about the progesterone doubling or not but try not to worry.
Call them and see what they say.
just relax these first 12 weeks will take care of themselves LOL. There office is closed but I think they should be calling me tomorrow with the results of my second draw anyway and if they don't I will call them. Really thanks for the info - I would go out of my mind without ya!!
and blood test on the 8th week. Imagine you are over here and you don't know the values. Try and enjoy being pregnant and don't worry, when they gave you your results they didn't say anything did they?? That's got to be a good sign :)
xxx
I don't believe progesterone doubles evry 48 hrs but HCG should. They probably wouldn't do an early ultrasound because the HCG should be greater than 1500 in order to be able to see anything. Your hcg should double. I guess for right now you just have to wait and see what the next level is. I know how stressful it is for you. I have been there before. Your progesterone does sound like its low. You should talk to your OB about that. I think they told me 11-90 was normal for the first trimester. There is plenty of info on the net about what your levels should be at a certain dpo, and what you progesterone should be.
I read that too about the levels 11-90 for the first trimester so I started to feel better because I thought I read somewhere it should continue to rise until week 8 or 9 and then level off but I was just over on the November babies forum and the ladies who responded have levels of 40+ they are however taking suppositories or injections so now I don't know what to think. I just don't want this baby taken from me too, I don't think I could handle it. I am gonna call my OB tomorrow...
I have a website with information on what levels your progesterone needs to be at.
http://www.**** .com.au/ ****
I deliberately put spaces so you and anyone else can view the site since it is medically related to your situation.
Your HCG levels do not matter so long as they are over 10 and they double every 48-72 hours!!! Most docs like to see a progesterone level of about 20-24 or more, at least that was my experience.
