First time pregnancy, not doubling hcg

After 6 years of TTC and a month after infertility doc told us we are looking at in vitro. We found out we are pregnant dec 15. Had appt Dec 16th with blood test. December 16th they called back with result and told me to come in for progesterone shot. my level was 6.5, my hcg was in the 5 thousands. They did an ultrasound and calculated me at 4 weeks. Only sac was seen, no poles no yolk, no baby. Went back to the dr the next day and had more blood draw. They called me today which is monday and told me to come in tomorrow for another ultrasound because my hcg did not double it only went up in the 9 thousands. The nurse told me It shold have been in the 11 thousands. My progesterone went up to 17. She told me to think of the worst so it wont be so bad when I get bad news. Im feel completely helpless. I have no bleeding but I do have minor cramps which is like when I have gas buil-up. I have cried more than I ever have. I will have my ultrasound tomorrow Dec. 21st at 4:15

To be honest it was pointless them calling you back for blood test next  the very day.they should have waited 48 hours.dont read to much into the hcg levels,they are high which is a good sign.your still early remember,as long as they are going up.then thats good.also you wouldnt expect to see a sac or anything yet,4 ways is way to early.most that would have been seen would be a black dot of sort,known as sac.
nurses are so wrong in worrying us mothers,its not for them to tell us to expect the worse.she is a NURSE not a doctor.it really infuriates me,as 9 out of 10 tens they are wrong.all i can say to you is stay positive for now hun.as hard as it is.minor cramps is normal in early pregnancy,even better  if no bleeding is present,so for now try to stay calm.rest up.please let us know how you get on.know just how you feel.took us years and years to get here.after many losses.and docs saying ivf was our only option,we proved them wrong.all the best.

Went for the ultrasound today and much to our surprise, for the first time we saw our baby's heartbeat. Going again next week to make sure baby is growing like he/she should.

Congrats hun!! Try to take it easy and not stress! I'm with tarajanes... I don't know why they would upset you like that... I've always been told that as long as your levels go up by 60% - doubling or even over within 48-72 hours that is a good sign!
Very reassuring that you've seen a h/b now though! Good Luck at your next u/s!

Had my ultrasound again today. I am 7wks and 2 days. My OB said the way the baby is growing is very promising and reassuring. Next ultrasound is in 3 weeks. He finally told us today. Congratulations!
