I found out I was having identical twins and saw their HBs at about 7 weeks. I had an early US (late 5 weeks) and she only saw one baby. Even at the 7 weeks US she didn't see both of then right away.

Just a note, if you go into the multiples community, there aren't a whole lot of people on there so there isn't a lot of action.

I found out about the twins around 8 weeks. Had an u/s around 6wks and only saw one baby, went back a couple weeks later due to spotting and saw two babies and two heartbeats. At that point the doctor I was going to assumed them to be fraternal because of separate sacs, but later on at my current doctor I was told they were identical due to a shared placenta. Good luck!

I heard their HBs at 13 weeks...

Jakesgal- Did you do any testing to be sure the placenta wasn't fused?

so you think that I still have hope? They did see both my babies...one was a bit smaller measuring three days behind but one we saw the heart beat and one we didn't. I still feel like there is hope that one baby is just developing a little behind the other?? What do you girls think? I mean If you have identicals and they didnt see two babies at first that must mean the developed different times too right??

I am not sure about twins but there is always hope until a doctor tells you other wise. I hope things work out well for you!
