From an Outtie to an Innie, is this normal?

by miko_latte, Apr 18, 2008 06:28PM
Okay so I've never been an outtie, but I kinda am now because of the pregnancy. So I got used to being an outtie and this morning I thought something was wrong with the baby because he was HARD and balled up and would not move, then I noticed that my belly button was back to a complete innie...so I thought maybe the umbilical cord was wrapped around him and was pulling my belly in...is this supposed to happen. I mean I finally got him to move and now he just won't stop kickin the **** outta me, but I just wanted to know that was something normal.

how far along are you? is the baby head down yet? sometimes when they shift positions in there it can make your belly all sorts of funny shapes. mine became flat on the top of my belly too towards the end, it stuck straight out then was like a plateau on the top lol

This happened to me too, my belly button became an outtie, then popped back in, I think it's just where the baby does shift positions.  I wouldn't worry!

mom2quint is on the money!

Also, the umbilical cord isn't connected to your belly button so if he was tugging on his cord it wouldn't affect your belly button.
