Full term this week..completely surreal.

I guess it's probably because I've already done this once, so I know what's coming...but the thought that I'll be going into labor sometime in the next month is COMPLETELY surreal this time around. It was sort of UNreal with my daughter...it was sort of a nervous, excited anticipation...but with this one it's almost like I've been dreaming the last 9 months and I have a hard time believing it's all about to be over with. Did anyone else find that their 2nd, 3rd, etc deliveries felt completely unreal as your time got closer? I'm very excited...not even nervous because I DO know what's coming, but at the same time I was sitting in bed last night and felt a huge rush of pressure and I was like "oh no, already???" and it passed and there was nothing after that but I seriously feel like I JUST found out I was pregnant!!!

I still haven't packed my hospital bags and the nursery still isn't completely set up, but everything that he needs is ready if he comes before we expect him to so now we're just playing the waiting game..anyone else who is in the home stretch, please share your stories...and anyone who has recently been there or remembers what it's like, feel free to join in :). I remember being 38wks with my daughter and BEGGING to be induced because I was so miserable...and they stripped my membranes and NOTHING...went shopping on my due date because I said jokingly "this is the one day I can be sure I won't go into labor" WRONG, lol. Can't wait to meet my little man and have my snuggle bunny in my arms....but at the same time I have a hard time believing it's going to be over so soon!!!

That's funny, lol, i can relate.  I've had four babies, and each time is so different.  Not just the labor itself, but the emotions, etc.  
On our way to the hospital with #4, I was crying a little and DH said "What's wrong?" and i was like "i'm scared!"  He goes, Why, you weren't scared with any of the other ones! and i was like Holy cr@p, you're joking, right!!?  He had no idea that i was scared, i thought it was so funny.  
Congrats ahead of time on your little man, boys are SOoooo much fun!!

This is my first, and I'm really scared.  Not so much about the labor or birth of my baby, but more about my baby staying healthy until she's ready to come out.

Also, Im' a super planner, and got most things done already.  So, the nursery is ready, hospital bags are packed, carseat installed, diapers/wipes bought.  Now I have NOTHING to do.  I know I'm full term today, but I also don't think I'll be lucky enough to go early.  I think I have about 3 weeks left. . . Just like what my due date says.  But I'm SO ready now.

I think for me at this point everything is just like "yeah, whatever" I've done this enough times that I know what to expect and to not have too many expectations LOL I have a feeling that the closer I get to term the more miserable i'm going to be though.  It still feels like the last 12 weeks are gonna take F-O-R-E-V-E-R...but I think once I start going to the doc every 2 weeks (whenever that will be) time will start to go faster.

I am on number 3 - and it still does not feel real.. so I do understand what you are saying. I have not packed a hospital bag.. and I just got a car seat yesterday.... only because the sale was over today - if it was not for that I am not sure when I would have gone.  I had an us today and at 34w3d she is 5lb4oz - so she is already bigger than my first... - I am scheduled for a csection July 20th so not much longers... but I am still 2cm and the cervical stitch is officially not doing anything....

I'm torturing myself because I was convinced this lo would some early because ds came at 38 weeks. I had false labor at 36 weeks and from 37 weeks on i've only been a fingertip to 1cm and the last two weeks 50% effaced so doc can't reach to strip the membranes.  I'm already 3 days past my due date and for some reason it doesn't seem real like I'm not going to meet my baby and she's never going to come on her own.  I hear some horror stories about going past due and I know my due date is really accurate so I'm scared for my baby.  But I don't want to induce either and not be ready and end up with a c-section.  Doc is giving me until Friday to see me again (I'll be 5 days over my due date) Then he wants to induce early next week...I've tried everything to go into labor naturally except sex really because DH is totally uninterested he thinks it's weird because of the baby... I haven't and not sure I'm willing to try castor oil or black cohosh because of the risks, and the past two days I haven't been taking the evening primrose oil because I was taking it for a week and had no cervical change... I know the more anxious I am the less likely it will happen but I'm so stressed and worried! I thought the worry was over after the first trimester!!!
