Gastric Bypass and Pregnancy!!!

I am TTC and i also had Gastric Bypass done. Though it has been over 2 years (April of 07) i just wondered if anyone knows anything about getting prego after this or anything that i should know about that might happen. Any advice would be nice.

i have heard about women getting pregnant after having bypass surgery, but I have heard there are also more risk involved. So if you are TTC you may want to let your Dr/OBGYN know so they can go over everything with you and keep a close eye on you so that everything is ok for you and your baby. good luck and i hope everything works out ok for you.

yes, my OB is aware of my surgery because he as well had it. but he didnt tell me anything to expect, he did say i should concieve (conceive) faster then before because of the massive weight loss but he just told me he needed to be the second person i tell. First DH then him because i will be on a different food intake (more protein) and he will need to see me more often. I know tons of people you have had the surgrey but none that have gotten preggers after. I just wish i knew more of what to expect i guess.

there was a medical program on a medical channel that i used to watch sometimes at the hospital I worked at, it had a series about a couple that had both had gastric bypasss surgery and were expecting. you may be able to find it online and t might give you some idea of what to expect. Good luck

if you go on youtube there is this girl who walks you through her pregnancy a year after gastic bypass. just type pregnancy after gastic bypass in the search bar on youtube. hope this helps!
