Getting pregnant on Provera

by RockyVT08, Nov 06, 2008 08:54PM
I was just diagnosed with PCOS this morning and the doctor gave me 3 months worth of Provera. He told me to start on cycle day 12 and take it for 10 days, and BD days 12, 14, and 16. Has anyone been successful with this method? I really want it to work, but I haven't heard of doing this before. I always hear about Clomid and Metaformin, but not Provera. Any advice?

metformin should be first line treatment on PCOS.  Provera is just to make you have your period, i think.

They gave me provera when I was having tons of breakthrough bleeding.. and 3 months later I got pregnant.. The provera helps to regulate your periods so that it will be easier to pinpoint ovulation

He told me to start taking it day 12 of cycle and BD 12,14, and 16. Are those the best days. It is hard for me to pinpoint when the O would be. Will I still get the same pain and CM?
