HAVE YOU EVER HAD A BLOOD HORMONE TEST DONE?

by MotherOFSweetieD, May 05, 2009 08:39AM
I am going to the doctor tomm for a blood test to have my hormones checked and make sure I do not have a imbalance. I wanted to get checked for this a while back but I was told that my doctor's office did not perform those tests at least that is what the doctor said that I seen that day. My doctor now said that they can do one and we can go through some things. I have never had one done before what can it show? After I had my son I went through a bad time with either depression or my hormones went crazy but it was bad for a long time.
I did some reading on the internet and there is a hormone test that you can do by checking what symptoms you have.
Like for me I have heavy flow on my periods,Anxiety, Insomia some nights, I started having hot flashes at night now.
There is just so many things. Let me know if you have had a test done or if you have any info Thanks

I have had one done. That is how my doc knew that I wasn't ovulating and my testosterone was up (which has to do with why I am not ovulating). This is usually the first step in an infertility treatment, but can be done for many reasons. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it  will just give your doctor a little more insight on what is going on with your body! Hope this helps!

Hi, I have had some hormone blood tests done regarding infertility - I had a FSH/Estrogen/Progesterone test on CD3 and then had them repeated on CD21. They also tested my testosterone but not sure which time that was taken. They can tell alot from the tests - hope they are helpful for you. Good luck
