HCG After D&C

Hey I just had a D&C cause the baby stop growing.The doctor didn't do any blood work so I dont know what my HCG levels is right now. I had taken one of them cheap pregnancy tests and it was neg. Does that mean my levels are back at 0. I went back to the doctor a week after d&c he didnt say nothing about checking my levels. He told me and my hubby we can start trying again in 1 more week, which will be Monday. So the only way I know my levels are down is only by the pregnancy tests. Are there other ways to finding out the levels with out blood work.

Depending on which type of pregnancy test you used it can detect 25-50 which means you may still have some HCG left in your system. Unfortunently the only way to get the exact amount is by a blood test.

I still had HCG after my D&C, and I had  a blood test, which showed 15 and just because I was curious I took a First Response HPT, and I had to look really closely, and I could see a very faint line.  Also, before this I had thought I had gotten my period back because I was bleeding, but turns out I still had HCG because of tissue left over  and I had to do another D&C, which brought me negative within a week.  So, if you want to know, you should ask for a blood test.  Good Luck!
