HCG Levels not Doubling

I am nearly 8 weeks pregnant through IVF, I had a scan at 6 weeks and was told they could only see the yolk sac and nothing inside they told me to come back a week later (7 weeks) it was exactly the same nothing inside, they took my bloods and went from 24,000 to 31,000, its not doubling but its still rising. I have another scan on Friday
6 weeks the gestation sac measures 10.5mm (4 weeks)
7 weeks the gestation sac measures 17mm   (5/6 Weeks)

Has anyone else gone through this?

Sometimes it can take until you're 7-8 wks pregnant to see the heartbeat even if our numbers aren't exatly doubling. Also, the higher your numbers get the longer it can take to double. Try to relax ( I know, easier said than done) until Friday. Good Luck and let us know!!

Well the closer you get to the 2nd trimester the slower your HCG may rise. And in fact, they eventually begin to drop around week 10. So that being said, it really is hard to know what is going on without having seen a baby/heartbeat. I wouldn't give up hope just yet. Please let us know what your next scan reveals!

Thank you for your comments, I had my 8 week scan on Friday and still couldn't see anything inside BUT instead of one sac they saw two sacs but was only 6mm!!
They took my bloods and from 31,000 my levels have gone up to 36,000, the nurse told me to stop taking the cyclogest so that i can naturally m/c but after talking to my partner Jason, we decided not to as my levels are still rising, we have a scan on wednesday and we will go from there...

Hi I agree dont stop the progesterone yet,to many nurses are quick to judge,and since she is a nurse she dont have the right to say that.your levels are rising which is good.generally untill they keep looking if at 12-16mm they see nothing they normally diagnose it as blighten ovum . we had it this pregnancy.I was just over 7 weeks until we saw somthing.so I would keep up the progesterone for now.are you sure on your dates,is it possible you are early than expected.best of luck.

Hi, ive had a cancellation at the hospital so just had my scan and they have told us that its a delayed miscarriage, ive stopped the progesterone and have a scan next Tuesday. its sad news but we can have ivf again..
