HCG level is rising, but spotting continues

Hi, I am 5 weeks 5days pregnant now, and have been having brown spotting on and off ever since I found out that I was pregnant.  I did blood test for hcg level three times 11/13 - 2306, 11/15 - 5154, and 11/21 - 27560 I thought the numbers and the way it was rising were pretty good, but I had red/pinkish spotting last night.  It did not continue, but I am having more brown stuff this morning.  I don't know what this really means.  Could it be blighted ovum?  Is it still implantation? This is how my last miscarriage started last May.  I am soooo scared... I do not want to go through that again...  I have an u/s scheduled next monday 11/26.  I will be 6 weeks 2 days by then, so that they can see if there is heartbeat.  Has anyone experience the similar situation?

I'M EXPERIENCING ALMOST THE SAME PROBLEM. ON 11-05 I FOUND OUT I WAS PREGNANT AND MY HCG LEVELS WERE ONLY 39 ON 11-07 HCG WAS 105 ON 11-08 I STRTED BLEDDING VERY LITE AND WENT TO THE ER AND MY LEVELS DROPPED TO 55 ON 11-09 I WAS BACK AT THE ER FOR MORE BLEEDING AND MY LEVELS WENT UP TO 104 ON 11-11 MY LEVELS WERE 149 AND 11-14 162 I HAD A TRANSVAGAL AND THEY FOUND NO SIGN OF A TUBAL PREGNANCY AND A SMALL 2MM SAC ON 11-19 MY LEVELS WERE 362 AND ANOTHER TRANSVAGANAL WS DONE NO TUBAL ONLY A SAC BUT TO EARLY TO GET HEARTBEAT. I HAVE BEEN BLEEDING LITE FOR 3 WKS NOW SOMETIMES IT IS BROWN. THE DOCS SAY I WILL MISCARRY. YOUR LEVELS LOOK VERY GOOD THEY ARE MORE THAN DOUBLING EVERY 48 HRS LIKE THEY SUPPOSED TO. TO ME IT LOOKS GOOD SOME PEOPLE DO HAVE SPOTTING THRU THE PREGNANCY BUT IM NO DOCTOR I THINK U WILL BE FINE. I WILL PRAY FOR U! KEEP ME UPDATED

Thank you for your reply and support... My hcg levels are only thing that I hold on to right now. Do you have any other pregnancy symptoms?  I still have 4 more days till my U/S and that seems forever to me.  Again, thank you for encouraging me and hope everything works out for you too...  Keep me posted as well

MY BREAST GOT BIG AND THEY ARE VERY SORE PAINFUL TO EVEN TOUCH. I HAVE NIGHT SICKNESS NO MORNING SICKNESS!

I forgot one more question.  Can hcg levels drop at some point from normal numbers and rising?  Since I have lost one, even if dr. says numbers look good  that doesn't makes me happy.  I am still worried about numbers going down whenever I have spotting.  Has anyone had hcg level going up and down?

I had HCG levels that started out good and dropped by a significant amount and then rose drastically, I figured the lab had reported the wrong #'s but I did miscarry a week later. HCG should not be dropping early in pregnancy

I found out I was pregnant around 4 1/2 weeks and the next day started with the spotting and bad backaches.  It continued for two weeks.  I had a sonogram Wed at 7wks 1 day and we saw the baby and heartbeat.  I was just starting to not spot.  I would say drink lots of water/fluids.  With my first pregnancy I had spotting off and on the first 3 months.  They never could figure out why.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.  The spotting stopped for about two days and it came back last night. It is so annoying.  I am going to have U/S tomorrow, hopfully I will get to see this little one's heartbeat.  My pregnancy symptoms are getting a bit intense day by day... I hope that's a good sign, but I can't relax since I don't know what's going on in me and have no control over it. Wish me luck tomorrow!!

I did the same thing when I was about 6 weeks pregnant - the spotting came and went for about a full week. It was even red at times. My levels were rising and the U/S showed a heartbeat so the doctors just said to stay off my feet as much as possible for the next few days. With HCG levels as high as yours I think you should see a heartbeat

With my last pregnancy my HCG levels were going up and then dropped then came back up again then dropped alot then came back up and so forth continued for 3 weeks eventually i was told it was a tubal pregnancy and thats why they were dropping and rising :S i have my right tube removed about 3 weeks ago and have since had no further problems ( pain wise) but i did lose the baby that was in my womb :S ( i had two babies one in my tube that they couldnt see thru U/S and one in my womb which they also couldnt see :S:S:S hard and confusing

I am so sorry that you had to go through all that... does that mean you were supposed to have twins? That must have been so hard....  What were the levels if you don't mind me ask?  I did mine just three times and last time I did was last wed.  I am worried in case they have dropped...  I hope all is well with you and I will let you know how the U/S go today.  I am getting ready to go now...Have a great day everybody!
