HCG level question

At 5 weeks and 1 day, my HCG level is 5500, 4 days prior it was only 856.  The number jumped alot (over 6 times in 4 days).  Is this normal?  Is there a possiblity from these numbers of a possible twin pregnancy?

It is very normal for your HCG levels to double every day or two - so you are right in range.  At 5 wks it is too early to determine if HCG numbers could be an indicator of a twin pregnancy.   Even later its not a very effective way - best way is through ultrasound.
