HELP! Really concerned about a friend, any input please?

by xoxo_Confused_xoxo, Sep 25, 2008 05:14PM
My friend is 11wks pregnant with her first, and she and her bf are ecstatic. But the other day she phoned me crying her eyes out because she was throwing up blood. She went to the hospital to find out that she has an ulcer in her stomach, they checked the baby and so far everything is fine, a nice 163 heartbeat. But my worries are will the baby be fine as she progresses into her pregnancy? What are the chances of her going through full term? Are they high? Please. any input would be great!

Ulcers in the stomach are pretty normal. My sister had 2 ulcers in her stomach and went on to carry a healthy baby boy full term. Your friend should take precautions on what aggrivates her ulcer, Acidic foods and drinks such as orange juice, beer or alcohol of any type, spicy foods, pop, citric acids and some fruits. If she watches what she eats so that she doesn't have any flare ups then she should be able to carry the baby to term.

Good luck, whishing her the best.
