HELP!! possible miscarriage

I am 19 year old. On thursday august 25th I missed my period so I took a pregnancy test at home and it was possitive. On monday august 29th I woke up with bright red bleeding and a really bad lower back pain and really bad cramps. I went to the er that night and they confirmed my pregnancy. I had a pelvic exam and they didn't find any signs of a miscarriage. They said I could be getting to face a miscarriage or I was having an ectopic pregnancy. Tuesday I was back at the er. Still having pains and bleeding. They did a pelvic exam. And an ultrasound but weren't able to see anything. My hcg level was 30. They took some bloodwork today september 1st and my hcg level was 22.6. And the doctor said more than likely I'm having a miscarriage. Is there any way that they can be wrong? Or for my hcg level to go up and for me to have my pregnancy full term? If you know anything please email me at s_gabby42***@**** Thanks.

It does sound like a miscarriage. Bleeding coupled with dropping levels would be a clear indicator that is what it going on. Further blood work will be able to confirm if this is the case or not.

Even if they didn't find anything on my pelvic exams that would indicate a misscarriage?

If it's early enough ultrasound wouldn't show anything. Usually it doesn't until you're around 5+ weeks and for many even this is too early to see much. Depending on your cycle length you would be around 4 weeks or so when it happened, and at that point baby is the size of a period at the end of sentences. Even at 5 weeks baby is the size of a seed and very little would be seen.
