How long after miscarriage

by rose74, Oct 22, 2007 02:42PM
How long do I "really" have to wait after miscarriage to try again? I had 4 healthy, uneventful pregnancies.  When my fourth child was 2 months old I found out I was pregnant again. Then miscarried 2 days after finding out.  I figured my body just hadn't healed from giving birth. Well, just recently, my youngest is now 3, I miscarred at 5 weeks 3 days. I can't help but wonder if something is now wrong with me. Anyways, I really want to try again. My ob suggests waiting 3 cycles. Would it be stupid of me to try sooner?

I got pregnant 6 weeks after my miscarriage. I'm now 30 weeks and everything is going fine. Usually they just have you wait so your cycle gets back on track for dating purposes. But I think that is what ultrasounds are for. :)

I had a miscarriage in September and am pregnant again. My doctor told me after the miscarriage that whenever I felt ready it was okay.  I was only 5 weeks at that time.  I have also read on other posts that if you are 6 weeks or less you didn't have to wait but if you were more than that then you need to wait a least a cycle.  I won't be gicen a due date until an ultrasound in Nov though.

Your progesterone might be too low to support a pregnancy. Ask your doctor about this. The supplements come in both pill form and vaginal suppositories and are taken up until 14 weeks, I believe.

Good luck!
